Ive met many people that like my z and also many that like the g35c better. For some reason, a lot of people think its faster and don't believe me at first when i tell them the z has more HP.

Just last night i was going to a bar and it was about 12 at night with no cars on the road. No cars except me and a g35c. He was in front and i was behind him. There was this one place in the road where the speed limit went from 25mph to 45mph. I had a feeling he would gun it at the change so i sat there waiting in second. Sure enough he did and i followed and for the short time we ran i started to pull on his aZZ. Ironically he was going to the same bar i was and when he pulled in i met the guy and his friends and he said nice car and i said the same. THen he asked how much hp i had and i said 287 and he said, oh i didn't know the z had more hp than me, i have 280. We had a couple drinks and i didn't talk to the guy anymore but have you guys found the general feeling, among people that don't know much about cars, is the g35c is faster than the z?

 

New G35c has 300HP like the Track Z does.
EIther way the G is at a dissadvantage do to the extra weight.

not only the extra weight but if you park a z and g35c side by side the g coupe looks a lot bigger

 

I know the new g has 300 hp, but i was talking about the 280hp models.

Z looks faster to me.

Not to mention it feels much quicker.

 

I know some G 35 tried me on the road the other day.... I just laughed....cant we all just get along even if I go faster hehehehehe - Z owner

people that arent very car smart corrolate, price with speed (which isnt always wrong) but people would hope that a car as $$ as the g35 would have more hp than a Z...

my wife has a g35 and i have a 350. not much but it is faster

 

Stock Z vs. Stock G35 = A Drivers Race... Simple as that.

 

I agree with that statement BUT with EQUAL drivers Z wins every time

 

yah pretty much a drivers race... question tho... how about the twisties.. i heard that Gs can outhandle Zs... is this true?? i cant remember where i read this but the Z had 0.30gs on the skidpad and G had 0.27... does the fact that the G is wider (and according to some ppl more aerodynamic) help it out?

 

That would be hard to believe. The extra weight of the G35 would definately be a major factor.

 

The stock G has better skid pad and slalom numbers than the Z as reported by some mags. Although some say this is largely due to the better tires.

 

IMHO, they both are same family, like brothers and sisters. so, who cares if one is faster, sexier or etc? They both are nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seeing that picture with the G35 and 350z on the driveway side by side makes it obvious how lean the 350z looks. The G35 almost looks bubbly.

 

Isn't the new G35 6 speed rated at 298hp?
