if you rag race i think road and track tested the g35c and got better times than the 350z track. That is most likely where most people get the idea that the g35c is faster.

on the track the z will oout handle the G. The G does in fact pull more g's on the skidpad due to it longer wheel base and heavier body.....I read that it slides its way to this .92 g's because of the two factors i just listed. Although the z pulls .89 and the G pulls .92 the z will out handle it. Also

well after watching BMI race battle with the G35 and 350z. The 350z couldnt loose the G35. The G35 was right behind the 350z through out the whole race. I think the performance is pretty much the same.... give or take the 350z is lighter so there is that advantage.

I raced a g35, it was auto, and it had 20" chrome wheels to slow him down.

I have a 6 speed roadster. I had two full car lenghts on him @ 85mph...

They guy was sooo pissed lowered his window down saying "this is luxury that's just a nissan.... my vette will smoking you"
Omer.

You'd have to drive both cars back to back to fully appreciate the Z. I currently have a G35C 6-speed, but I ordered a Z 35th M/T after having driven both in the hills. What the car mags don't tell you is that while the G35C may get better skidpad/slalom numbers is how DIFFICULT it is to do that in the G coupe. The G really requires a lot of forethought to hustle it on a twisty road, while the Z is like a direction connection from your brain to the road. Z is forgiving to drive quickly, G is definitely not.

Regarding tires... again, on the track is where the Z's Potenza 040 tires excel. While the G has the Michelin Pilot Sports (except for the new 05 Coupes w/ the Potenza 050), the PSs have a softer sidewall and lesser resistance to becoming greasy on the track. They also work a LOT better in the wet than the 040s do. The Z's Potenza 040s are by comparison, better suited to the characteristics of the Z. Stiffer sidewalls mean more immediate and crisp turn-in, more resistance to greasing up on the track, as well as being a definitely more dry-surface biased tire.

The Z feels completely different when you drive it, regardless of the platforms that are so similar. Drive them back to back, I guarantee it.

I have a G35c....... if stock vs. stock..... Z is faster no doubt about it. But look at our forum now...mostly z/g are modified....so this is not an issue any more. I have been racing so many Zs in northern VA and so far I have not lost to a single one .

both my Z and my wifes G are both stock (for now) and i have driven them back to back i prefer the Z. I would really agree on the "dicret connection" statement
