not good.... You look around for other decomposed rats?
Now you got me thinking to look once in a while in the bumper area for decomposing things.

Crap, I had spiders once that everytime I kept killing them it seemed as though another one would pop up later. It was scaring me while driving to see something drop in front of you while you're driving. Thank god that there hasn't been any recent sightings. Probably because it got too cold or something, hope that continues.

I was washing my Z the other day and I popped the hood to clean out a couple of leaves, as well. To my suprise, I looked down into the front bumper area and saw this pile of "something".

It was laying on the flat plastic area in front of the radiator. I thought it was a pile of wet pine straw or leaves at first, but then I remembered that pine straw doesn't have a tail or a backbone.

It must have been there a while cause he was a decomposed mess.

Here's a pic for your enjoyment.

At least...

1) the smell didn't alert you to its presence
2) it didn't have any maggots and worms wriggling around on your bumper

I had put on my front body kit.. and only secured the under engine cover with one twist tie... well... after a few weeks the one twist tie was not enough... and I cold hear the under moter cover scraping aver once in a while.. I go to look under my car.. and I can see the under cover hanging down.. like a 'scoop' .. well .. I guess one night I scopped up this rat.. and he dies right away.. I foud him when I went to properly secure the bottom engine cover .

Last spring I pulled the Z out after it had sat covered up for about a month. As I was warming up the car a brown mouse ran over my lap and jumped out the door. I starting looking for babies and found them in the spare tire well. She had used part of the mat as bedding. Since it was cool I did not turn on the AC fan till later that afternoon and the whole car shook. I pulled the blower out and found she had linned the inside of the blower with debrie and matting from the spare tire mat. Popped open the hood and found walnut hulls all over the engine. seems mini mouse had found her self a upscale condo to live in. I guess this is the down side of having cattle pastures on three sides of my house.

This reminds me of when I was cruising down 360 pretty close behind an SUV, when suddenly a red and brown mess pops out from under the SUV.

I was too close to manuever, and before I knew it, I heard a thunk as the decaying carcass of a deer smeared along the undercarriage of my Z. I could see the deer's head...

I was nautious the entire way home.

I dont look forward to changing my oil this weekend.

I did find some red meaty goop in the wheel well when I washed the car that weekend too, it was sickening.

Hey it could be worse. I was travelling on I-40 in North Carolina near Raliegh (headed back to the crib) and hit an opossum going about 80 mph!!! I literally had ZERO time to react. It ran out at full speed (spooked maybe by something off the road) and I just nailed the sucker. Scared me too because that thing was HUGE.......in the second before I hit the thing I thought I was about to nail somebodies dog!!

Anyway, the impact decapitated it and left the head wedged into the grill of my car so I had a snarling opossum head sticking out the front haha. Never noticed it before I had to take the suckers head out of the front of my car but THOSE THINGS HAVE DEADLY MEAN TEETH!!!! No kidding it was like a gigantic rat.

Note to self: Have a little more respect for opossum's in the future. I have caught them on my back porch stealing my cat and dog food before and run them off........I dont think I will be doing that in the future as the porch door is right next to my sliding glass door into my house and it would be all too easy to corner the thing on my porch........and I really think I should avoid cornering an opossum on my back porch in the middle of the night in my boxers!!!!! HAVE YOU SEEN THIER FREAKIN TEETH!!!!! hehe.

On a side note one of my more humanitarian friends was driving his truck and night and happened upon an injured dear that had been recently runover. It was clearly a fatal injury (front leg missing, both rear legs broken) but the dead was still flailing around. He decided to put it out of its missery and run it over. Bad idea! The dears leg punched a hole right through his floor board.
