Default 350Z Turbo from Nissan?

Hi, I have been thinking of buying a 350z and was on the verge of placing a down payment for Black 350z touring, however i heard rumors that Nissan might release a 350Z Turbo model. Has anyone heard of this, or is it just rumours.

Welcome to the board I think its all rumors. And if you want a twin turbo get the UR kit like the one I have or the APS kit, I think it will work great with the type of weather we have

Yeah, i wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a 350z with turbo from the dealer. Been hearing that for a long time now. It would be nice to have a factory warranty but you can buy a base one and modify it cheaper (i think) than what it would cost for a factory TT350z if they made one

Your right tt, buy a base for what 26 otd, figure 10k for a complete TT solution. So thats 36k, you'd be paying 40k at least for one through Nissan.

Why would the salesman risk the loss of a deal at hand by saying that?

It may be around sooner than we think:

VQ35DET/DETT making it's apearance in JDM cars already.

that pic must be fake, no offense, but it looks as if the intake pipe is going staight to the airbox, which would make it impossible fr a turbo to exist. I could be wrong jus my 2 cents. Zach

Just go to www.nissan.co.jp and see if you can find a car with the VQ35DET/DETT

I got the link while searching for something else a couple days ago, I bookmarked it thinking it was neat. It supposedly from a Nissan Stagea wagon, I can't read Japanese so I can't look for it on the site. Nismo supposedly offers the engines as well, but again I cannot read their jp site either. You can find the reference to the vq35dett on the site in relation to the Z33 but I cannot tell what else it says.

As far as being a fake, notice the tube on the other side of the engine as well that going into what looks like a metal plenum. Perhaps the air intake sweeps around the back (doesn't make any sense but hey...).

I haven't ever posted here before, I just signed up to be able to search, etc as I'm thinking about a Z. I thought this pic was particularly interesting tho.

Yeah the salesman fed me that same line right after I picked up my Z. He said they were coming out with a 400 HP turbo Z at the end of 05, I'll believe it when I see it.

So far, I haven't seen any pictures of an engine like that on the Japanese Nissan website, but I did find out that the New Skyline (infinity G35 in the states) has 2 options for engines:

"Neo Di VQ25DDI" and ""VQ35DEI"

so, what do the "DDI" and "DEI" designations mean on the engines?

The 350z's engine is listed as "VQ35DE(Neo)I" on the japanese website also...

So, why does the skyline have a VQ25? That seems odd, unlis its for FI? Can someone who actually reads Japanese please check for us? =P

(btw here is the website: http://www.nissan.co.jp/ )

With as many trannys the NA Zs go through under warranty, how many of you really think Nissan wants to put 100hp more through em!
