The G and FX series vehicles have similar exhaust notes, albeit a tad bit different IMO.

I still am very impressed with the sound of my Z. My friend has an STi and we were lined up at a light reving our engines at each other. Whenever I would rev mine he kept saying "Your exhaust sounds so much cooler than mine!" When ever i get on it and go above 5000 rpms I almost get chills.

The sound was actually one of the things that made me buy the car. They showed part of the video "The Run" on some of those tuner shows on TNN last year and after it I was like man that is the stock exhaust sound?? Its completely understandable why a lot of people keep the stock exhaust on.

Almost exotic-like.
That's why I still run the OEM muffler and B-pipe despite upgrading to a NFC Motorsports Y pipe, Kinetix high flow cats, and DC SS headers. These mods further accentuate the OEM sound. It's not obnoxious (Kinetix cats are one of the quieter ones) but definitely more pronounced. Very nice.

Re: The 350Z's Sound
agree to every word. i have never really heard it "live" though cause despite owning the car for a year and a half. i have ever been behind it or at least in it when someone else drove it.
but i can say that i got yelled at where i work for going to fast in the parking lot. funny thing is i was doing about 10mph and the comment came just cause i hit the gas a little and it just sounded fast.
reminds me of that toyota celica commercial where the old guy yells at the parked car to slow down. weak car but cool commercial.

I work in center city philadelphia. The other day spotted a BY Z being driven by a gorgeous chick stopped at a red light with a few cars in front of her. She was busy fiddleing with something in the passengers seat and looked up and the other cars were gone and the light was about to change. She slammed it into gear floored it and I just about pissed my pants. Her pop charger whistled, her exhaust sounded great and the brickyard Z was perfectly clean... I wasn't the only one admiring the car...it took me a minuite to remember that i have the same car in Silverstone parked in the garage down the street. I agree, it is a very different car when you are not behind the wheel.

I love the sound of the Z too with stock exhaust. I notice with the GReddy TT, the exhausts are replaced. Does it sound as cool when you replace it with aftermarket exhausts? That's one of the reasons I don't want to mod my car.
Oh and yobri, that is a cool sig. I wish I lived in a city/state where the Z community was bigger. Damn Kentucky.

My friend creamed his pants last week telling me:
"DAMN! Your exhaust so nice and deep. Sounds really exotic!" lol
I hear my brothers every morning when he takes off to school and it is lovely. Wakes me up every morning. Now imagine getting woken up every morning to the 350Z exhaust note. Heaven I just smile when it wakes me up Seriously though, i do.

Hehe-- Heres a little short story about the exhaust sound in my Z.
for background info, I have the Stillen catback with Crawford high flow cats.
my friend Craig just bought some 7" headrest monitors and he is a big buffoon with installtions on cars, so he asked me to install them for him. I called my brother up to help me with the install, so this past Tuesday the 3 of us were at my house working on Craig's G20 putting the monitors in.
While working on the monitors, a lightbulb in my garage blew out and I didnt have anymore bulbs in my house left to replace it. Since it was the center bulb in the garage, it was kind of a necessity, so I decided to run to the local supermarket and pickup a 4pack of lightbulbs.
On the way back home, when I turned onto my street which is about 1/4 mile long, I floored it in 2nd and 3rd gears through about 80-90mph just for fun. About 50 feet before my house I slowed down, but when I pulled into my driveway I found the two of them staring at me already and telling me that that was the sweetest sounding exhaust sound they ever heard. They said they heard me all the way from the bottom of the street and it sounded like a 350hp V8. Im in love with the exhaust note on my Z, lol.

Haha awesome story Srivero297. I've never heard a Z take off. There's 3 Zs in my city that I know of (including mine). So the only time I hear one is when I'm driving in mine. So I have yet to hear the roar from outside.

I did get to hear the Z with the RSR (no silencers) one time. My dad met me somewhere after i left something at home that i needed. I was in the truck so he took the Z to meet me. Then he pulled out and accelerated off, I thought it sounded pretty good
