Default TCS/VDC normally OFF switch

<reposted in new thread>

This is for those of us who don't like the TCS/VDC always being on.

I have a friend who owns a C5 Vette. Those Vettes have a similar system that works almost exactly like the Z, although you can turn off the Vette's TCS/VDC independently. He designed and built a microprocessor that turns the system to ALWAYS OFF, but remembers the last setting that it was in. It's easy to install, and was so popular with Vette owners, he's sold a few hundred of them on his web site.

He's pretty confident he can adapt this for use on the Z. He just needs to see the Z tech manual to know for sure. I told him I could use my Z as a guinea pig.

Anybody interested? Group buy perhaps?

I just remember to hit the button every time I get into the car. It's part of my routine now like putting on the seatbelt.

When I finally break 1200 miles, what should I expect the difference to be between having TCS on and off? I've never had such a thing before.

Turn VDC off. Make a sharp right or left-hand turn in second at ~20MPH. Make sure you've got plenty of road width-wise, bury the throttle at the apex and enjoy the tail kicking out sideways with tires spinning.

Cool... I'll take my time getting a better feel for the car before I try it though!
