Default Cleaning, and Pampering Oh MY!

I was just wondering how many of you pamper your 350Z to rediculous levels? I bought mine last month or so and try and keep it garaged most of the time. It's rained quite a bit but she's never touched the stuff. I wax, clean, buff, and touch up any little nick and scratch on the nose etc. My wife think's it's rediculous that guys pamper their cars so much. In matter of fact, I bought an old chevy just for screwing around town in. I realize these aren't Vipers, Ferrari's, etc. but I'am proud of the vehicle. THe only downside is that you don't really get a chance to enjoy it as you're afraid of rock chips, scratches, wild shopping carts, etc. ANyone else have this delimma? I'am supposed to goto Dallas this weekend...good 300 mile drive and want to take the Z but don't want to worry about someone messing with it. I figured I'd drive the hell out of it right now while it's still a fairly rare find, then start keeping it garaged more when every teenager with wealthy parents snag em or when there's 50 on a lot. Anyone else think this?

don't mean to flame or anything, but just drive the damn thing already! If you're paying $500/mo+ for your Z, plus insurance at $100/+, what's the point of just looking at it? Your Z will never be any more fun to drive than it is now, when it's still the "new sexy car". The more you wait, the more Z's on the road, the less "wow" your car will be. Besides, the car is so much fun to drive!!

I take care of it, but I try not to worry too much. Fact of the matter is, it's a car, it's replaceable, it's fixable. If you buy a car, my opinion is you shouldn't spend so much that you're stretching yourself to the limit, therefore the car should be fairly expendable to some degree (like you won't go nuts and kill yourself if your car gets destroyed or injured)...my motto is, don't buy the car unless you can pay for it within a year with money to spare for living expenses (if you're buying... leasing is another matter). Too many people nowadays finance material posessions, I mean, you can finance a freakin big screen TV... IMO, if you can't afford it at the moment, then don't get it.

What everyone else said...

I think we all need to realize just a little that the precious 350Z automobile is just a fabricated sheet of metal with four wheels and mechanisms to make it move (trust me, its hard for me to realize as well). The 350Z is just transportation, extremely stable fast and luxurious transportation
