2nd gear vs 1st gear launch

2nd gear vs 1st gear launch

I was wondering if it's ok to start at 2nd gear instead of 1st from a complete stop? Will it damage the engine/transmission in the long run?

I got the car two days ago and put in 260miles already. I love the car btw

It'll launch...

BUT...

1) You'll have a terrible 0-60 time...

2) You'll prematurely wear out the clutch

why would you want to?

I would consider it if you are moving a little like a rolling stop or if you are on a hill and you are moving a little in neutral.
