Road & Track list the curb weight and the test weight separately, the test equipment weight would be in the test weight. The curb weight for an unoptioned Track is coming in around 3300#

The only options the Track model would have would be either the Nav or the side airbags. All other options are standard.Nissan lists the curb weight of the Track at 3225.All of R&T tests have list higher curb weights. Why?

because they have fuel in the gas tank. Contrary to urban legend, the Nissan curb weight listings do not include a full tank of fuel. The difference between an empty and full 20 gal. gas tank is 124#. A Track showing a curb weight around 3300# has a heavy fuel load.

It amazes me that Nissan managed to make the Z 1,000lbs heavier than my MR2 Spyder. There isn't much of a size diff.

true, but the 350Z will not flex and crack the chassis like an MR2 Spyder, even though it is considerably more powerful and undergoes much more stress loading carrying that extra weight, plus the 350Z is larger than an MR2 Spyder., have to disagree wuith you there.

The 350Z has a solid chassis, the MR2 Spyder does not. The Rx8 has a very stiff, similarly sized chassis to the 350Z and it weighs almost 3000# even though it's rotary engine is several hundred pounds lighter than most 6 cyl piston engines.
