miles do not hurt a car at all. hell i drive mine to the mailbox and back i love it so much. okay maybe that was an exageration but I still drive the wheels off her. especially to and from work. i gives you something to look forward to every moring when you wake up and also throughout the day knowing that when you clock out you get to ride home in style.

and when the miles rack up you get another one. the new body style sposed to be out by 07. yeh!!!

I drive mine to work. That's it's job, and it does it well

 

I had a civic for a daily driver til about Christmas and the reason for that was I found that I never wanted to drive the civic anymore...My Z is now my mode of transportation of which I do 50 miles /day - 5 days /week....
Sorry as for mileage I cant worry about it ... I mean I did buy the car to drive so my take is just enjoy it

 

It's going to hurt to put 2,000 miles per month on your Z, but then why buy it if you're going to spend 2 hours per day driving a clunker? I would drive the Z and just give it the maintence it needs. I just can't understand the people who own a really hot car and then buy a junker to "commute" in. What's the point if the Z is just for Sunday drives?

 

I can't stand the idea of having my car rack up tons of miles either.

I'll just have to plan on rebuilting the engine or doing an engine swap later down the road...

Besides, is the car not fun to drive on the highway? I know it isn't in rush hour, but otherwise it's still fun

 

I don't have a problem with racking up miles on my ride. In fact I have 7500 highway miles on my 05 which I purchased in Oct.

However, I think I am getting old, because I do a daily commute of about 150 miles and having done this for about 2 months in the Z and I am seriously considering a more comfortable car.

My previous vehicle was a 01 IS300 which I managed to rack up 137,000 miles in 4 years.

I considered taking the local metrolink train to work and leave the Z parked at one location and the IS at the other end, near work, but then I am worried that the Z or the IS or both would get jacked, keyed or crapped on by birds.

It would save on miles, but there are additional worries. Damn, maybe I should sell all vehicles, buy two cheap camrys and leave them at each location and then get a S4.

My head hurts, time for a nap.

 

If it snows where you are get a POS and even if it doesnt 40mi, one way, hell no, not in the Z man. You gotta find a 5$ car.

 

One reason I bought the Z was I wanted a sports car that I would use as a daily driver. My commute is 17 miles each way.

 

If you were getting a big position, wouldn't you be getting a bigger salary?

If so, just drive your Z, I'm sure the extra $$$$$ you can get a nicer car in a few years.

 

I bought this car for the sole reason that if i was going to have to spend a lot of time driving the daily commute it should be in something i love. You shouldn't ever feel guilty for driving it.

 

my Zed is my buddy, she's with me wherever i go, i'm enjoying every minute in this way. and driving it to and from work is my work stress relief......

 

i drive my z 50 miles to work 4 days a week, all highway miles and i love it. But i drive my civic from late december to mid march for the salt/snow months here in chicago.

My current commute is only 4 miles each way. I'm thinking about getting a new gig just so I can drive a longer commute every day. ;-) I love my Z!

 

I no longer care about racking up miles. I drive about 80 miles to and from work each day. My previous sports car was a Honda S2000. After 3 years, I only had 14,000 miles on it. Only a sunny day car. My commuter car was a 95' Camry. Sold both of those and drive the Z daily. I love it. You are paying for it, drive it. You will not recoupe the money on saving the miles. So what if you add $1,000 to the value of your car if you only drive it twice a week, instead of every day for 3 years. You are really missing out. I think the car is a lot more comfortable than my S2000.

 

it's just a car. i'd take it skiing if it had more ground clearance.

Amen to that . . . the idea of getting into a lesser car when the Z is sitting in my garage feels kinda like cheating on my girlfriend with an ugly girl.

" is where the G comes in. Problems solved. I have over 46K on mine i just over a year and love it. I thought about buying a beater too.. but if your going to spend all of that time in a car each day why not be as save and comfertable as possible? I say keep the Z or get a G.

 

I drive many miles per day on the worst freeway in the world, the 405. I hate the traffic but I love the car, and it will see traffic until the day it dies, or I get rid of it.

It sure is fun to school the luxury cars that think they're fast, or blast on the SUVs and trucks that don't let you over or cut you off because they're juth tho big and oh tho thcary.
