regarding performance figures:

star motoring newspaper featured a 350z fitted with vortech supercharger on page 9 december 9th 2004. - i think thats where figures come from?

i seriously doubt those figures - seems more like a promotional article than anything else!

also, car magazine had road tested 350z in march 2004 issue - they achieved 6,8sec for 0-100Km/h - however that car had very low mileage - to all intents and purposes you could call it brand new - i expect that they will get better results with a car thats "broken-in"

also, our fuel is an issue. on the inside of our fuel caps i'm sure you would have noted that it states we should use 98octane "sans"

now, my french is not that good, but i interpret that to read "only". i made some enquiries as to whether using lower rated fuel would have any negative effect on our cars (not performance) and was told by dealer - "no"

anyhow, on the open road - thats where i express my love!

regards

Default Re: Re: 350z performance issue in south africa

After reading 10 reviews in our local magazines and raced my firends E46 M3 in jhb. I have tested also with satalite speed testing equipment. I raced again in durban and have come to my conclusions that the 350 is kuk slow in jhb . okay maby not exactly 40kw but i will be testibng my car on a dyno machine soon. I will let you know the results as i heard a standard 350z only does 140kw on the wheels in jhb.

We only get the track model in south africa.

it costs R385000 without navigation. if you work it out to dollers then the exchange rate is R6 to $1 = $64 200 Ouch!!!!

crazy, isn't it?

anything you want in South Africa, compared to America, just multiply by 10 - should be around about what we pay here in SA.

hi

the wind deflector on my windshield wiper broke off

apparently, you need to replace the ENTIRE wiper at a cost of R200

1. is it necessary to have the wind deflector? (apparently it keeps the wiper in position at high speeds)

2. is it cost-effective? i.e. worth it?

3. can it be stuck onto the wiper?

thanx

regards

Hi Iqbal

Just read the mail about the advanced driving couse being offered. Will you be attending the course? If so, when do you intend going?

Regards
Ashley

i don't know yet if i will go?

i'm in kimberley - 500Km's away from JHB

also, cost of course is for 1 day.

i've enquired as to how much time spent behind the wheel as opposed to theory - no response yet.

it will be more worthwile for me to go to Phakisa - pay R100 for a full day on the track - plus, experienced track guys are sure to assist newbies.

Phakisa is situated just outside Welkom - much closer than JHB.
