if they tested a base model, and price was a factor... it would be 1st

There a many attributes to the Z that can't be measured with a stopwatch: the look, the sound, the feel. And what about all of the highly regarded cars that didn't make the list; like the EVO, RX-8,TT, et. al.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young couldn't said it any better 35 years ago..."Love the one your with." By any measure, we all should be proud Z enthusiasts
My guess, without reading the article, is they focused on 2-door sport coupes/cars. There are no four door cars on the list.

IMO that is the definition of a sports car. Granted the evo and sti are beasts, they are not sports cars imo, more or less cross over vehicles with a lot of hp. (not to criticize the two cars at all, I almost bought one).

I know for a fact that when I pull up to the club, the Z is hot. I love her for that

It is very interesting that the S2000 ranked as well as it did
among the competition. I think to even consider the 350Z or the S2000 in this category is a big complement. Hats off to both.

I have been thinking of this article often since reading it and posting about it. Here are some of my thoughts:

1. The outstanding sales of the Z made the competetion step it up in performance. Could you imagine being Porsche or BMW and having the the R&T article posted by Skrill having the Z running quicher lap times than the BMW M3 and the Porsche 911? Thus, the Z's sales succcess has helped promote higher performance within the industry at a better price.

2. Look at the list. All of these cars are outstanding performers. To be seriously compared against a Viper, Vette, 911 etc with the price car we have with a reliable and inexpensive engine and low cost car is about all we can ask for isn't it? It is not like the Z got blown away by these cars costing 2 to 3 times more.

3. I was watching the speed channel last night. They took the muscle cars of the 1960's such as Boss mustang, 442, big block Chevelle, American Motors AMC with a 390CI, and Dodge Challenger with a 426 hemi. They ran all them in 60-0 braking tests, Slalom, and 1/4 mile. As you would guess, our Z would out perform all of these cars in braking and salom. The amazing thing is the quickest 1/4 mile of all these big block muscle cars was the Mustang running a 13.7. the 350Z runs very close to that time. Most of you are stating Road and Track times are slow and even within the recent article, they posted the 350Z to run a 14.1 1/4 mile. Our car is pretty awesome. These are the golden years of performance. Enjoy your Z!

Out of all those nice 9 cars, I'm not surprised it's ranked nearly last. If cars like the Protoge, 6, RSX was involved....then 9th place would be sad. lol. But I'd be proud to see the Z be on the same list as those cars

How can you compare those cars with such a price difference? When you add up performance, style, price etc. the Z shines. No one can tell me that the Porsche Boxster at 60K is a better car and value than the Z.

Steve Millen, drove the Z slower because he is pissed at all the trash and complaints he gets from Z owners.

It lost to a z4..... thats disgusting. I could understand an M3 but it should not have ranked lower than the z4. Oh well, still love my Z.

No LSD, skinny tires and brake fade...it might still be finishing that lap at Buttonwillow.

Well they put the Dodge Viper SRT10 2 places above us. 6th place?

So i conclude this test is a crock of **** and these are clowns who have presence of known bad drivers.

Every test I have read prior to this one had the Z either 1st or 2nd place when compared to such cars as the Crossfire,Audi TT,RX-8,S2000,Z4,Boxster etc.In other words cars in its class.C&D rated the ZR over the TT,Z4, and Boxster. All depends on who is writing the article.

Wow, I'm amazed that the Corvette did that good. I guess I underestimate it. Like others have said, it's an honor for the Z to even be on that list, and when you look at the cost difference, I think we got the best deal. And like others have said, I like the Z the best anyways

Well, according to one of the posts, the Z4 beats the M3.

Know what guys? After reading the article, if I have to do it all over again, I would still buy the Z. Why? I am not a professional driver, neither do I use my Z on the track in a regular basis. I picked the Z because I like it for my own reasons. If a magazine uses my criteria to write an article, the Z would be rated #1.
