people with 6 spd manual, how do you guys liek to park your cars, in first, second or leave it in manual, which way is better?

leave it in 1st w/ the parking brake.

First, second, or leave it in manual? You mean neutral?

Anyway, pull up the parking brake and then put it in the gear that you will need once you come back and restart (i.e., either 1st or reverse) and then shut off the engine. That way it will be ready to go. Don't leave it in neutral.

Also, if you park on a hill, be sure to pull up the brake before letting off of the brake pedal and letting out the clutch. This way the pressure will be on the brake system where it should be instead of the tranny gears. (You should also pull on the hand brake before putting the 5AT in PARK.)

Finally, on a hill be sure to turn the wheel so that, if the car rolls a little, the tread will meet the curb and stop rather than the car rolling further.

Others may disagree. Your mileage may vary.

I always put it in second since it's easier. Is that a problem?

cool thanks, i usually put it in gear, but with it in gear, when i start the car up, the shifter rattles like hell, is that bad?
