Those with Nismo Floormats. . .
Are they any better or thicker than the OEM ones? Just had mine replaced under warranty because of a hole the size of a fist, all in the course of three months of ownership. Does anyone make all season floormats that are rubber?
The OEM "Z" and the Nismo floormats are roughly the same, the only difference I can tell is the OEM Z mats are 80 bucks versus the Nismo 52 bucks.
You might want to find some aftermarket rubber ones if your putting a fist hole though the OEM mats, instead of the Nismo (probably wear out the same amount of time like your OEM's).

Yeah that's what I am thinking too. I compared the floormats to my Lexus floormats and the Lexus ones are literally 3x thicker. I might as well put Gladwrap on the floor, probably thicker. It's either that or replace the floormats every 3 months. The dealer gave me the passenger side mat as well. So I now have 2 passenger side and one driver's side.
Soft soled dress shoes. Usually Cole Haans and Kenneth Coles. I work in an office during the weekdays and wear birkenstocks during the weekends. No combat boots. The dealer acknowledges that the mats are of poor quality. Just need to basically find an alternative to the OEM ones.
i know this is the cheap-skate approach, but what the hey- more $ for mods right? i actually went out and bought a decent looking set of rubber mats, to use in bad weather/winter (and for the occasional leaf/pinestraw/stone pebble the passenger may track in). just swap the good ones in when you're taking it out on a sunday cruise or show, put the cheap ones in for daily run-around use. i wouldnt mind getting the nismo mats myself- if nothing else i would like to ruin a pair of aftermarket mats versus the stockers.
These seem interesting. I may change to these when the current set wears out.

When I put in my Nismo mats, they looked completely identical except for the Z on the stock one and Nismo on the new one. I have had to wear issues on either set. I can take pics of both if you are interested.
I haven't had wear issues, but I haven't had my car that long. That was one of my pet peeves about the Z. I had cloth mats on all the previous cars I owned and I hate 'em. They get dirty so easy and you can never really seem to get them clean. I was hoping there would be official rubber mats (so you could just hose them off), but there aren't any.

I see two options here:
1) Get some $10 vinyl/rubber mats from Walmart and put them on top of your factory mats. I've been doing this since day 1, and my factory mats look brand new. Plus, it's infinitely easier to hose down rubber mats than it is to shampoo carpeted ones!
2) Buy a second set of mats for car show use. I mean, the other gentleman was right, $52 for Nismo mats isn't a bad deal at all!

If you keep your left foot on the rest pedal and your right foot planted on the gas pedal you wouldn't have this problem. I wear the same type of shoes and my floor mats are like new (7,600 miles).

I went to Autothing.com and brought WeatherTech rubber floor mats. They are the only supplier that makes rubber mats for the Z350. That I could find.
1. Go Nissan products.
2 Go Z350 products
3. Pick Floor Mats (WeatherTech) 49.95 for front mats.
I have used WeatherTech floor mats before in other vehicals. They are great. They will hold 1 quart of water if spilled on the floor mat.

I have the NISMO mats but throw them on top of the stock for car shows. I have no wear issues with the stock mats @ 22k miles. I used to put cheap clear mats on top, but I got tired of the look and figured I'd just buy replacements off the internet or ebay when the stock wear thin. So far, they are holding up great! But as far as quality, it has already been said, I think NISMO is the same except the badging.
you ought to see mine. I wear combat boots 5 days a week (in the Army) and that really takes a toll on the floormat. was thinking of finding one of those metal plates for just that section, and riveting it into the mat. might look a bit ugly but it won't wear out so fast
