I "ordered" my Z in mid December and I just called the dealership to check up on the status of my order to see if they put in the order, if they got a VIN yet, etc. They told me that Nissan North America is not alotting any dealers to order Zs. They haven't for the last three months due to the sales being down. They said that they were looking all over other dealerships for the car I wanted and they can't find anything. I did NOT want the $700 side air bags and the Aero package, or the cargo pacakge, but every single DB Performance that they find has 1 or a variation of options that I don't want and that will cost more. I don't want a car that has been test driven, I want a new car. That is why I ordered it, that is why I gave a $500 deposit, I mean I signed a pricing form that showed the pricing of the car I ordered. Can they change that? So I have a few questions for any dealer, business, person that may be able to help me out in the slightest.

1.) Is it true? Is Nissan not allowing orders to be placed?

2.) Where would I go to look around the country for the car that I want?

3.) What would you guys do? Would you wait until they start allowing orders(3 months after order is when I would get it and I REALLY want it by the end of April)? Would you let them bring in a car that isn't exactly what you ordered? Would you look elsewhere, other dealer, or a different car?

Any help would be appreciated. And if Performance Nissan happens to see this thread, are you able to order cars?

 

Sounds like BS to me dude. Try going to a different dealer.

 

Sounds like BS to me too, but if I was you I would take the one with the cargo package and enjoy it. I mean it is a very cheap option and I would think you could force the dealer to pay for it anyways.
