Default New Z owner

Greetings everyone from a short-time lurker. When I received the call there were 13 Z's on the lot, by saturday it was down to 7. Took at least 30 mins to convince them of a test drive (i had NO intentions of buying). once I did I was hooked... well the pics below in front of my house should tell the rest of the story =p

Congrats on the new ride. Enjoy, since there are several of us still waiting for ours to come in. Oh well, at least it looks like it got a good home!

BTW, you will be very popular if you post more pics.

Please tell me you don't drive with the car bra on all the time... you get paint fading and when dirt gets under there, you get scratches.

It's only meant for road trips!

nice!, i have a bra also on my car. i use it only when i gotta go on the freeway. the 405 and 605 are pretty dirty filled with stones too.
anyways, congrats on your new car!
btw, how the hell did u get the last corners on the bra that go on the side of the headlights to fit. it has been on my car for about a week and i still cant get them in.

Gin262,

Congratulations on your decision and on getting your car so quickly. The thing that amazes me is that many of us have been waiting for 7 months or more to get our hands on our cars. We have not been able to drive or even see examples of the cars we ordered. Much of that frustration will evaporate when we actually drive off in our Z's, but I have to say the pre order system sure had some major flaws.

Blake, I don't understand this. Why would you receive a call when you had no intentions of buying? Did you just put your name on a list in case you got more interested later?

Also, if you don't mind, how long were you on the list and did you have to pay much over MSRP? Or were you able to get MSRP?

Thanks and congrats on your new Z.

Thanks for the compliments guys! The bra is coming off ASAP I wish I could tell you how to get it installed properly, it was on at the dealership... but if I see any tricks when i take it off I'll let you know!

I had gone by the dealer one day just to see if they had any on the lot, they didn't and put me on a list to call when some arrived. I just wanted to take a look... had no clue I'd want one so bad after seeing and driving it.

I feel for you guys still waiting on pre-orders! If it's any consolation mine had an $1,800 "market adjustment" fee. So no go on MSRP. The dealer also wouldn't sell without the mask or the 6-disc changer they were charging $800 for.

I'll post some more pics when i can get some scenic backgrounds... BTW break-in is a *****!

Default I think the bra looks fine

I wouldn't be so quick to ditch the bra if I were you. It offers the most protection possible. As long as you clean it when you wash your car and don't let it get wet you'll be in good shape. Just keep a couple layers of wax on it, it has a soft liner in it and it fits as snug as a bug in a rug.

If your going to be driving it in inclimate weather then it's a different story.

I think other than black the blue is the next best color to go with it.

I knew this would happen. Back in July, when I first heard about the new Z, I went to dealers and they said pre order is over, but you can order one for Feb or March. I knew that was a crock and that I would be very sorry if I put down a deposit to wait 8 months because by Feb, there will be thousands of available Zs across the country. It just so happens, that I bought a pre order back out a month ago. Those who have these cars on order. Go try to find one elsewhere, and when you do, cancel your order. It is that simple. These cars are not impossible to find anymore.

Depends on what part of the country you are in. Also finding your first choice color and your first choice trim / options is a bit difficult. I would rather wait a few months and get what I want.
