Default Question About 2005 models

Hey everyone, Im new here, and ill be picking up my 2005 Enthusiast 6MT pretty soon, and I was wondering if Nissan fixed some of the problems that the 2003 and some 2004 models had, such as tranny problems, and tire feathering...etc....

Thanks, Id really appreciate some help

Well I sold my 03 touring and just bought an 05 zr touring. only have 1200 miles on my new z so as far as the feathering, I really can not speak on that issue yet due to the fact, I have not had the car long enough.. But there are some major differences to me and some minor problems that I had on my 03 seem to be improved. 1.) Bose system improved 100% 2.) Drivers side window does not streak anymore 3.) Clutch is easier and transmission is much smoother. I hope this helps you some in your decission.

could be a loose swaybar or something else in the suspension...can you feel the sound with your feet through the floor?

Mine had the old "pulls to the right" problem but an alignment seemed to fix it. I've only got around 2000 miles (winter sucks) so I can't comment on the other problems.

I have 3,300 miles so far. Only problems so far:

1. Windshield wiper needs to be replaced soon.
2. Cupholder sucks.

No feathering signs yet. The transmission has no grinds, other than upshifting to 2, & 5 feel rigid.

Thanks a lot for the info guys, seems like some of the problems are getting taken care of by Nissan, but there are still a few bugs. What can yo do about it, no car out there is perfect. No matter what, the Z is still an awesome car and cant beat it for the money. Thanks again for the info everyone!!!!

I feel it in the clutch and I hear it. It sounds like it is coming from the rearend and it is LOUD sometimes. It really pisses me off. I took it to the dealer and they said after I get it broken in (I have 650miles) if it still does it, then they will put it in the shop.

This TSB for axle clicking might help you.

http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../NTB04-065.htm

Note that its for 2003 and 2004 Z's, but I would give it a shot since problems always prop up on newer models too.

P.S. Dyno your car already!!!

The shitty thing is, if the dealer is an ***, they won't budge on helping him out since "2005" isn't listed on that TSB.

The dealer drove my car and he "said" it wasnt the axles. How much I believe him is questionable. I will probably try a different dealer.

No I have not dynoed my car yet becuase I only have 650 miles on it. But I will dyno it as soon as I can! Does anyone know how many miles I should wait before I should dyno it?

I dynoed mine at 1,500 miles. I would think that 5,000 miles would give a better indicator. To be honest, when you feel the Z is ready.

05 enthu, I have slight pulling to the right. My right rear tire is always 2 - 4 psi lower than the rest. There is no nail no leaks(that I know of) When I fill it, it'll be low the next day or 2. But no more than 4 psi. But I love the damn car

Maybe it's the tire valve that's leaking???
