Unlike my old '93 Toyota MR2, which clearly stated on the inside door panel sticker "Manufactured in Japan"....The Z door panel sticker has no such wording.

I'd hate to think my Z was made by the same type of mental misfits (picture Al Bundy in overalls and a wrench) who piece together a Ford Taurus or Toyota Camry somewhere at a plant in Kentucky ...YIKES!!

The letter before the final numbers in your VIN indicate the plant T=Oppama M=Tochigi

 

IIRC, there's a plate riveted to the chassis inside the engine bay that says "made in Japan"

 

the first digit in your VIN is "J" for "Japan"
