Good point. Thing is, I already have a car I track regularly, and this car probably won't be receiving a lot of mods. I guess the question is, "Is the price difference between a used track and a used other model enough to pay for mods that make it as good or better than a track?"

I just assumed that the used prices were close regardless of whether it was track or not. Usually used cars' options make little difference, so I was thinking that a used track and a used base would be close in price.

Here I had an unpleasant surprise because the car is an US model and to pay the registration here in Europe, to pass all the emissions and standards , the euro4 thing, and many other would be quite expensive and nobody would do it. I have tried to sell it locally but it was not succesfully.
That is why I am trying to sell the car back in USA, there will be no further problems because the car passes US emissions standards and DOT & EPA as long as it has been purchased in US space.

I remember a scam with Western Union involving people requesting you send funds to a "third party" and then you give them the confirmation number so they can "check" the funds are there.

There is no "confirmation" number. The only number is the number you need to receive the funds.

So instead of "checking" the funds, they just take the money and bail, while you think a third party is holding the funds.

At least I think thats how the scam went.


Anyways, anyone requesting money to be sent via Western Union is not legit. Period.

I'm selling an old pathfinder on autotrader for $1650...and I've had TWO emails where people in Nigeria want me to ship the car to them.

The email goes like this: We'll send you $5000 for the car, more than enough to cover the shipping...just take the original $1650 plus whatever it takes to ship the car and then send us back the leftover.

Catch is this: Their check goes into your account and then bounces about 2weeks later, after you've already shipped your car and sent them back money. lol

 

haha. that is hilarious.

When I was a teen ager, I had a guy show me $10k in cash that he wanted me to deposit in my account to "hold" for him. lol

That scam was new then, so I didn't know what the catch was, but I wasn't dumb enough to do it knowing there had to be something wrong.
I later found out that they do that, then get access to your account to withdraw their 10k and your money. (at the time I may have had $50 to my name)
They win your trust buy 'giving' you the money for a while then take rip you off.

Now that I know that scam, if it's done to me again, I'm decking the guy, taking his cash, and running like the wind. LOL (I'm a big talker aren't I?)
