Default differences between touring and base Z models

ok, I was looking at some stuff on my Z and it didnt really check out to what I thought it was, I think. It was sold to me as a Touring Model, but I am not sure if it is or just a base Z with tags on it. I was wondering if there is any way I can tell that is apparent with the difference in the 2 cars, option wise and visibly?
I want to make sure I am not being shafted by the dealer, but when I asked the questions about the fairlady Z and 350 GT badges I found out that they were just add ons from the previous owner. Is there any possible for sure way to tell if I got a base or a touring? checking the vin number doesnt work, it just showed that it was a 2 door coupe and no specifics as to what actual model it came from the factory as. any input would help...

The base steering wheel does not have cruise control on it.

That's the fastest way.

where is the cruise control located on the steering wheel, and I am guessing you are saying this is a standard option on the touring? I definitely did not see one when I looked for cruise control today,.

ok, I know it doesnt have cruise, so I guess I did not get the touring model, unless that option can get taken off for touring. Are you sure that the touring has cruise?

alot of things you can look at. touring is the only model that comes with standard power heated leather seats. it's got 7 speakers and 6 cd changer. look for the auto dimming mirror. if it doesnt have one then its a base model. you can also check to see if its has HID's as well as vdc and traction control on/off button.

yeah, I was checking on options and you guys are definitely right about all of them, I am going to have a long talk with the dealer on pricing tomorrow. I paid 27000 for the Z b/c I was lead to believe it was touring. I am not paying anymore than 22k for the base, as that is private party value for one with 23k miles on it.. this is upsetting, as I was looking forward to the car. If the dealer doesnt come down on the price another 4-5k i am giving them the car back, and finding myself another Z. The fairlady and 350GT badges also threw me off as to it being a touring model, I did not think of the BOSE sound system, heated seats, etc being standard on this car, and did not look for them. The loan hasnt finalized yet, I should have a fair chance at this, as this is definitely false advertising. thanks alot for your help, I will keep you posted on what happens if you really want to know. It sucks that it has to be this way, but i am not about being screwed over like that.

If you did not do your homework, why is the dealer to blame?

It is salesperson/dealers job to make sure the customer understands the product purchased....especially a large ticket item.....I do not expect the same treatment as if I were walking into a 7-11, and buying a 6-pack.

There is a big difference between a base model and a touring...and this sales person was going to walk off with the difference....

Andelustica....check out the following link, it notes the models and the features of each....then make the salesperson sold you what you expected.....let us know how it turns out....

Why would you trust a salesman on a major purchase; its either naivety or stupidity.

I'm certainly not defending the scumsucking salesmen but people have to do homework.

Isn't $27,000 very very high for a used Z (touring or not) with 23k miles on it??
No way in heck I'd pay that much for a used Touring w/ 23k miles on it.

My opinion. I'd just walk. Find another dealer and another car. These scum suckers don't deserve your business. Yes, you need to do homework, but they are obviously liars too.

There are so many cars out there, you can find another and work with a better dealer.

You could get a new base or enthu model for 27k.

What model is listed on your paperwork?

IMHO, 27k is rediculous for a used car, let alone one with 23,000 miles on it. On top of that it`s not even touring?

You got screwed my friend. I wish you the best in getting even with whatever scum sold it to you
