Default I just called K&N...

I just called K&N and they say that there isn't an air filter made for the Z car yet, only an oil filter. Courtesy Nissan is selling them for the Z. Is the filter for the z inter-changeable with another Nissan car I.E. Maxima, Pathfinder etc...I want to buy one for my z but I don't want to buy the wrong one or one that will damage the motor. Thanks,

I believe the one courtesy is selling is a little short on the top and bottom, but comes with spaces to make it fit properly. An exact fit K&N should be out before long; I'd just wait.

Maybe I'm missing something or did something wrong, but doesn't the 3.2 maxima have the same filter? It seemed to fit ok.

hmmm... I had read that some people were putting K&Ns in so I went a bought a Maxima filter. It seems to be the same size. So what's this talk about fitting? Is it just a specific part number for the Z?

The Nissan part number for the stock air filter is the same as the Maxima (VQ 3.5) and others. K&N offers the Maxima filter. The filter we offer you is the same size as the stock filter.

Steve,

I purchased the K&N filter from Courtesy and have installed it in my car. I'm sure I did it correctly but why are there two rubber spacers in the kit? Is this simply to hold the filter in place (in the cartridge) while you slide it into the intake box?

Thanks

K&N must have other applications for that part number. You can discard the extra spacers. They are not necessary on the 350Z.
