I completly agree with Lerxst. The only way to know that you can afford the Z is to try it. I don't mean buy it, but like Lerxst said, take the costs that others are telling you the "total" monthly payment will be (monthly car note+gas+insurance+average of oil, tires, brake pads, etc..) and save that much each month and try to live off of whatever is left from your income for the next 3 months or so to get a good idea. After that, if you think you can afford it, then great news for you, you have around 2,000 extra for a downpayment and you get a Z!!! If not, then you can get a pretty decent used or even some new cars at a much lower price and still have a large part of your savings for college. That is my 2 cents and it happens to be what I did also. My wife and I tried to live on a lower income to see if we could afford a new Z. Guess what... we are waiting until we graduate next year before we get the car. It is something I have wanted since I was 10, so waiting 1-2 more years isn't going to kill me, same as it won't for you. Sorry for the half-way positive answer instead of all positive, but I want the road to be filled with happy Z drivers, not resentfull ones

Yeah, but if I save up till I have like 14000, which I should have by like this february, then I should be able to have money left off for a lot of other things other than my car. I mean, I know 14000 is a lot of money to waste on a car, but that's probably the only way to buy this car without actually owning too much money.

Just to add to what other's have said. Even with a downpayment, the 800 is spreading pretty thin and this will be over the course of 5 years (I'm assuming you'll be getting a 5 year loan). Just realise as other have said, it'll be a long commitment. And if you want to mod you car with new rims and what not... you likely won't have much left for that. If you really want the Z, maybe look for a good used one. Good Luck.

Oh yeah, I wana mod it. And yea I want a used one. By the time I buy my Z, it'll be december by which the 2006 Z will come out meaning 05 Z's prices will go down. So I'll be looking for a used 2005 enthuthiast 350z with like 10000 to 20000 miles on it for like $23000-24000. The reason I want the 2005 is because I heard they fixed a lot of bugs on the 2005 so yeah. Then I'll be able to get mods such the Nismo Catback Dual Exhaust and the Injen Cold Air Intake and on.
