I was thinking the same thing about the new IS looking like the Scion tC. I really like the tC still. You get a lot for the money. Not performance wise but practicality wise. Maybe you should get one of those! LOL

Bat,
The FX 35 runs $36,450 and the FX45 $45,450 (MSN auto)
These are MSRP prices so they don't mean squat!
Get the FX or at least test drive it before making your decision.
You'll love the interior, ride and POWER for sure.

Hey bat, you gotta keep the Z, or get a G35 coupe.
After I got the Z, my wife got a Murano. It works out pretty good. It would be nice to have a back seat, though, for the occasional times that I have to pick my daughter up.
I'd get a G35c if I had to have a back seat. Fortunately, my brother is in college and he leaves his rustang at my house while he is there. I use that if I have to pick her up.

Bat, Keep ur Z and get a Murano. I would hate to see another Z owner leave the forum. Why do everyone here have this thing that they have to get rid of there Z because they're going to have a family.
My son just turned one last week and my wife is complaining that the Jetta is not big enough anymore. My first statement was the Z isn't going anywhere, then we test drove a Murano. She loved it, so thet going to be the new vehicle along with the Z
If you do decide to get rid of the Z I hope you continue visiting the forum.

I saw from the ad, the 2005 Altima leased for $109 per month (Last week gazzette local news paper Gaithersburg). That could be the best 4 door family sedan (if price is an issue). If price is not an issue get the FX or the M, and keep the Z as well.

Oh **** Bat, I read the post and then I saw your name and my jaw dropped. I'm kind of sad because your Z is one of the best DB Zs out there. The future owner of that Z is going to be very lucky.
However, I'm also happy for you and consider yourself very lucky. The fact that you have a loving wife and you both are willing to start a family is wonderful. A lot of guys out there are single (like me) or not looking for that special someone yet. I think having a child is one of the best moments that can happen to a person.
My friend had a child a little over a year ago. Before he got his child pregnant, he was about to graduate from college and was talking about getting a fast car. He was a little sad at first because getting a car like the 350Z would be unfeasible now that a child was coming. I think now though, he wouldn't ever dare think about regretting the fact that he had his child. He loves his son very much. I went to visit them when their baby was born and it was very beautiful. The kid wasn't even mine and I thought it was so cool. Everytime I visit him I have an urge to hold him. Hell, I probably would trade my Z if I had a loving wife & child waiting!
Regardless of which car you pick, best wishes to you, your wife, and your future family.

Andy,
The FX is a great ride. My father has one and truly loves it. He wanted a Z (he was there when I bought mine, as was a previous 240, 260 and 280 owner .... before myself and three sisters came along).
However, he could not get the Z just because of the impracticality. I suggested the FX, so we went for a test drive. Needless to say, he bought his that day .... he was that impressed.
It's a great car (handles amazingly well), pulls as strong as the Z does from 30 - 80 (feels like it) and is a ton of fun to drive altogether.
BTW, look used for them .. they are not the greatest residual value cars .. so you can grab one cheap.

I'm on the other end of the curve......
Already went through all that stuff. My kids are now 6 and 8. I used to drive an Audi S4 as my only car. Then I bought a Honda Pilot, sold the S4, and bought my ZR as my "toy".
