Default Front license plate?

I have elected to copy most corvettes with no front licence plate, what is everyones opinion on this subject? Do you have a front plate? If not, have you had much trouble from the law?

I've lived in states that require front plates and drove without them with no problems. It's required in Utah, but the Z's at the dealer never have front plates... and I won't be taking a drill to my baby. If Texas is anything like here, start paying attention to how many cars you see on the road with no front plates and you'll probably find many...

I drove w/o front plates on my old car and haven't had problems other than parking at West Los Angeles (California).

I just pay the fine (Once so far)

Here in indiana they aren't required. I read something interesting about this in a car magazine a few months ago, they said that if you speed regularly it is better not to put one on because it will be easier to get caught, and the fines for no front license plate usually aren't very big. I wouldn't know anything about this, it's just what I read in a magazine.

I live in California and have yet to put on my front license plate. I think it ruins the looks of the Z. Even if you use the "Z bracket" it still doesn't look right, plus blocks some airflow. I have just been lucky for not being pulled over (knock on wood). I say go without it, the worse that could happen is a fix-it ticket.

I ordered a Zee-Bracket so I don't have to be an outlaw anymore.

In Kentucky, you don't have to have a front LP. I think they are ugly & drilling holes into your Z just to mount a front LP is crap. The Zee Bracket is a very good fix for those living in states requiring a front LP.

Here in CA it's like playing russian roulette and you don't even have to be driving, I know of folks who have gotten tickets left on their windshields while parked (see the norcal section).

I run a Z bracket on mine, I don't want to give them a reason to pull me over.

The sales guy at the Houston dealer where I bought mine said he's sold 20 Zs without front plates, and to his knowledge none has put a plate on since they purchased the cars. I've had none on my Z for 6 months, no problem. Houston cops have better things to do than hassle law-abiding Z owners. That said, if I was pulled over for another infraction, I'd probably get ticketed. BTW, my wife's CLK320 hasn't had a front plate for over a year, and neither has my blown Dakota R/T.

I did that for the first few months that I had my car but once I got the windows tinted I started to get some very long looks from cops.

So I took 4 plastic zip-ties and just strapped the sucker to my grill (same spot as Jason@Performance's). It looks pretty good and didn't cost but $0.99 for the bag of ties.

Damn, $100 for a fix-it now??!! I've been ticketed twice for no FLP and I thought I only paid $15 for the ticket. I guess I'll have to go legit and get the Zee-bracket.
