When I had my bumper redone, I had the shop fix up the ugly holes drilled in by the dealer. Been going without the front plate for almost 3 months now, have been pulled over once by my own town cops and received a ticket.

$125 fine.

Thanks for all the replies so far! So I suppose in Houston/Texas you would expect a fine of around $100 dollars? What if I were to stick the plate in the window while being pulled over without the cop to notice = is it legal to put it in the window/dash? I used to own a Crossfire, though, at the time, it was a second car that I only drove on weekend nights, I had not put a front plate on it. My Z is my new, BETTER, only car now (daily driver). Are there any other persuasive views? = I appreciate all that I have read so far! I may order the Z-bracket for safety like a few such as Jason has mentioned!

New York City: $65 Parking Ticket
Front License Improperly Displayed.

I get the Z bracket the same week I got my New York State Tags. I didn’t have time to install the bracket on the grill until the next weekend and got a FLP parking ticket.

ohio requires one and i dont have it and so far so lucky. hope i am not jinxing it.

one thing you have to watch out for is that you dont need to be driving it to get a ticket. this topic has been talked about several times here and there have been a few Z owners that have come back to their cars after a day at the mall or restraunt to find a ticket on their shield from a a$$hole cop.

if you are in a public parking lot, or on the street, you are fair game for a ticket, even if you are nowhere near the car!!!!

Wow a c note for a fix-it offense!! I live a in Cali as well and have gotten quite a few of these tickets while I am parked on the side of the street with parking meters. The parking enforcers are so in tuned with giving out tickets for that in L.A.. It occured so often that for a while I avoided street parking. I finally broken down and ziptied my plate to front grill. I guess I will keep it that way for now since the ticket is so expensive now!!
