Very quick noob question.

Is it really the fuel? In racing tachs they are wired to cut the or interupt the ignition. Harmful no its a safety feature thats why they call it a rev limiter so you don't cause any damage.
I like the AT downshift feature thats nice where it ignores you if your engine rpms are to high.
The manuals are cooler cause you can change your shifting with the computer and set your own limits.

My Z in manual mode doesnt prevent me from overreving. Ive seen several Zs doing donuts and banging the limiter like 10times! Ouch! Sometimes I hit the cutoff which doesnt do any harm. Now doing it constant is harmfull.
Alright guys, I lied...
The real story: I was trying to make a vid for a local site to be in the site's compilation vid, I am only 17, I have never dumped the clutch in this car before, and it really crept up on me, I chalk it up to inexperience and being dumb....

Fuel cut or ignition cut, I'm not sure wich one is used (I'd say ignition) but either are "bad" for the engine. It creates imbalances on the crank shaft for that brief period, wich can had up if it is done frequently.
Hitting it once in a while won't hurt the engine much tough. You can still sleep soundly tonight !
Nice video!
hehe thanks man!
Yeah, I came back, showed somebody, and they had some words that kinda made me uneasy, ah well... I won't be doing that anymore.....
or maybe I'll just shift to 2nd... hehe.

The rev-limiter is a fuel cut off.
The speed-limiter is electronically regulated by the CAN in the ECU. (Whatever that means.
) Supposedly, there are some sensors that monitor the final drive, LSD and the the wheel speeds, when it calculates that you hit 250km/hr (~155-156 MPH) it will modify the engine so that it will no longer accelerate.
Is this right? If so, that means you can mess up your speed-limiter just by changing your tires, wheels, LSD or FD. How do you get around that if you change those? or is there a way to remap the ECU to adjust for the various changes?

The ECU uses a CAN system, which uses multiple processors to control everything.
I'm not sure if doing those mods will affect the speed-limiter, I know it WILL throw off the MPH gauge by a little though.
