Insurance question.
I did a search and read all the threads about insurance and it lead me to find a lot of companies to get quotes from for the Z. The thing I want to know is, if you are financed through Nissan, are you allowed to have $1000 deductables? I have seen a lot of people that have $1000 deductables but I don't know if they paid cash for the car or not.
Well, I bought a new Eclipse in 2001 and I put $1000 deductables on there and I got a nasty letter from Mitsubishi says that I need to have atleast $500 deductables. I was wondering if Nissan was the same. If I can't get a solid answer I am just going to do it anyway until they send me a nasty letter lol
Somebody here should know. After posting I tried to delete my comments since they didn't really address the issue (but I couldn't).
I would try calling a local Nissan dealer and see if anyone is available in the Finance dept. They would know the answer.

I'm confused as to the nature of your question.
As far as I know, you are required to have full coverage on the car, meaning deductibles on both the Comprehensive and Collision parts of your policy when financing a car. I would imagine the minimum required amount is $250, though this may vary state-to-state. When I had my car financed, I originally had $500/$500 and then dropped the Comp. to $250 while still under the finance deal. However, this was a loan from a private Credit Union.
You can do $1000, but it won't save you that much on your policy and its twice as much money to front in the event of an accident. I would try and go for $500/$500. Shouldn't be an issue w/ the dealer.
