Is there any simple way to get a build date out of the VIN? The end of mine is 4M252635.

 

The build date should be on the sticker on your driver side door jamb

 

yeah !!!! am so happy i didn't know that till now... lol ... mine is > 60001

 

Look at the build date located in the driver side door sill.. I think 10/2003 and later is an 2004.5

04.5's also came with knee pads.. but someone with an early 04 could always buy the part after the fact..

i heard (don't know if its true) that only the 04.5 had the knee pad things and the 04's didn't... mine is a 04.5 and was built in december 2003 so if the build date is anything 04 its an 04.5 most likely.

 

Sat radio did'nt come out until the '04.5
