Nissan's special on the leftover 04 Z's is 1000 cash back and 3%. This offer ends March 31st.

My question is... when April swings around. Can this leftover 04 deal just get better or what?

I have my eye on a leftover 04 and I want to wait till april to see if I can get a better deal.

What do you guys think? Anyone have any ties to Nissan?

I`m looking into a silverstone 04 enthusiast that`s at my local dealer.. they want a "minimum" of 22,500 for it, but when you include taxes and all that bullsh!t, it comes out to around 25,000, give or take. I think you can get a better deal once April rolls around, but you never know about those dealerships..

 

Wow thats a great deal. The lowest I got was around 27500. And i can get an 05 for that price,buthte financing is why I wanted to go for the 04

 

I just saw as an AD in the LA times for a 2005 base model Z for $23999 . Apparently theres 2 available on one of Power Nissan's lots. I know some of you are outside of CA, but maybe even with shipping this could be a better price than elsewhere?

 

Just keep ripping at em. Back in Dec 04, my dad got the dealership to go $36.5k OTD on a fully loaded (with Nav) Track model that was nearly $38k sticker. It was about $33k before tax or something. That was 4 months ago, you can do better. Not to mention 2.0% financing on our deal too.

 

Thats about what I'm getting my '05 for, just under $36k OTD.

 

They've had this deal since January which is when I got my 04. Don't expect it to go away until all the 04's are gone. If anything the incentives should only get better since 05's have been out for a while. Just as a baseline I got my 04 redline enthusiast for 26,900 out the door. Depending on your tax rate, the OTD price will vary....

 

Wow these are all really good prices I hear. I wonder if the dealers here in NeewEngland like to hold onto these cars or something. They don't budge.

 

That means you bought your car for about 25k + all taxes and fees. That is like 2k under the invoice. Hard to belive... at least here in Chicago they don't give deals like that. Was the car brand new... no dents and so on??? How many miles did you have on her? What options did you have?

The $difference between 2004 and 2005 is just a few hundred dollars (like 2 or 3).

As fas as I know the 1k cashback is for lease only. Does not apply towards purchases (3% financing for those).

 

I got a really good price. On the 04's you get 1000 rebate; its not towards a lease. In addition I got 500 college grad rebate, which I didnt know was available for the Z. Its an enthusiast with every option believe it or not(MSRP -$29980). Also got the hookup with no dealer fees(~500). Guys it can be done, Nissan dealers need to move their 04's. To sum up I got the car 1500 under invoice mainly cause of the rebates.....oh by the way also got 3% finance rate. In February, it was not one or the other, you could get both incentives....I'm sure its the same now. I have never bought a car above invoice..

 

Than they gave you a good deal. I bought my car like a week ago - and I got it around invoice. I was using the VPP. They told me $500 grad rabate is not for a Z, and $1,000 is for a lease

Invoice price is what a dealer "officially" pays for a car. Than they add destination charge (~$500) cause thats what they need to pay to get the car delivered. Under that price (invoice+destination) dealer will have to pay the difference out of his money. The dealer can only reduce the invoice by OFFICIAL manufacturer incentives!

Some manufacturers return some $$$ to the dealers at the year end =>but that is a totally different story.

I talked with my cousin (he works for a big dealership) and he told me that selling a car (to a regular customer) under the invoice could cause some serious trouble with the manufacturer. And they are not allowed to do it - unless the customer has some special discount (like vpp for nissan). But even then the price is strict - you get a non-negotiable price. With VPP, you just put a VIN number and get final price (dealer does not negotiate it).

I don't want to sound like a hater - but stating that you can get a NEW car 5k under the invoice is not right (even seems funny). I work for sales and trust me - nobody will give you anything for free. The only way to get such a discount is when there is something wrong with the car.

Sorry man but the 1000 is not for lease, its cash back which can be combined with the 3% finance rate. Dealers will usually try to fool you on this so they can make their money all the while making you think you got the car at invoice. This was on edmunds also and I even called multiple dealers who said the same thing. Incentives also vary by region to, so who knows.....but I think that they made 1 grand off you...I guess its not too bad since you still got invoice...

I was aware that the Z did not qualify for grad rebate also thats why I was shocked when they offered it to me. It was not used, the car only had 8 miles on the odo. I just casually threw it out that I recently graduated bc I thought maybe they had some insider info that wasn't available anywhere else..well whatever worked out good for me in the end...

Out of curiosity I have called 3 nissan dealers in chicago asking them abouth this 1k cash back. They all said it is either $1k or 3% financing. And 500 recent graduate does not apply for the Z I see you were lucky with this one or mayby that deal in not available in chicago - but who knows with those dealerships

 

I called my dealers 3 of them and they all said its a $1,000 dealer incentive that they get back from nissan if they sell it. So I think they are more than likely going to be more flexible on the prices. This is along with the 3%

I am thinking just going with a 05' (I can get one at invoice) it seems noone wants to give away their 04's

 

Note that Power Nissan is... (cue ominous music)... Satan, so be careful if you deal with them. Don't be fooled by Wayne Gretsky.

 

Your right a lot of the dealers are still reluctant, dont know why...? I was about to get an 05 since there wasnt much of a gap..luckily at the last minute I got a hell of a deal since I saved the dealer doc fee, grad rebate, and incentive from nissan. They wouldnt do doc fee or grad rebate on the 05. Good luck hunting fellas... and keep trying for 04's...u should be able to score one similar to my price nowadays, if not then just go for an 05
