Video Games with the 350Z
Hey all, I just saw a few new images of the 350Z that are appearing in a new game coming out in a month or so. It's called Sega GT 2002 and it'll be out for the Xbox and PS2.
I know that the Concept Z was in Gran Turismo 3 for the PS2 and it was great, but it was the concept car, and as such it wasn't powered the same. I'm not saying Sega GT 2002 will be better than GT3 was. Heck no, GT3 is the god of driving games... but from what I have seen and read on the video game sites, Sega GT 2002 uses a totally different engine that the old ones and it's MUCH better. It is expected to give GT3 a run for the money as best all around game.
I know, we'll believe it when we see it. You can also play ALL other generations of the Z, as well as the Skyline GT-R and another huge amount of cars. You can fine tune and customize just like it GT3.
It looks like Sega looked at Gran Turismo and it's success and thought...we can do this. (and then copied them) (which is fine by me)
So anyway, here are the shots, remember, these are reproductions so they are grainy. the actual game shots will eb crisper and cleaner.
These shots are from the Xbox version of the game. (next three posts will have the shots)

Well, there's the answer to my question of if you had seen the screenshots for Sega GT 2002, Jay. There was a Sega GT for Dreamcast too, this isn't their first shot at a competitor for the GT series. Anything for XBOX has a huge advantage over GT3. Right now Sony can't compete with the capabilities and features of the XBOX at all.

the xbox has an unbelievably greater edge over the ps2, but seriously, those screenshots compared to the gt3 screenshots are absolute crap.
these are pictures from the gran turismo concept game. sifted through 218 screenshots for these. it has the exact same graphics as gt3 does. and personally, they look a whole lot better than the sega gt looks. what do you guys think?

Those are nice screenshots, but I still think that the XBOX will allow for much superior graphics and other features. It will rule if you can listen to custom soundtracks in Sega GT 2002.

i know the xbox will rule. but the thing is the people at segagt just don't seem as devoted as the people at gran turismo. compare the second screenshot of the sega gt screenshots with the last screenshot of the gran turismo ones, both similar head-on slight 3/4 views of the car, and the gran turismo version looks infinitely better. you can see the grille lines in the front air dam, the headlights are perfectly detailed, the scenery is beautiful, the edges aren't as jagged, you can read N-I-S-S-A-N in the nissan logo, the reflection is more realistic...
...all in all, gran turismo, while being played on an inferior gaming system, is the superior game.

and one more thing...
...the exterior rear view side mirrors of the z in sega gt are perfectly round, though they're supposed to be squared off and angled, like they are in the gran turismo version
that's detail, folks.

Well, there's no arguing that the Gran Turismo series is dominant now and has been since #1 came out. It will be interesting to see what new driving games come out within the next few years.

damn, now i gotta go out and by a console game system
After seeing those pic's, and hearing about how realistic the driving is in GT3 and possibly GT 2002. I can now practice driving the car before I go autocrossing.

yeah, in all of the GT games so far, and in the first Sega GT, several different colors were available. I'm still laughing about the Ford Ka in GT2 available in cuirass metallic. Ok, maybe my mind is in the gutter, but it kind of sounds like queerass metallic when you sound it out.

i personally don't own gran turismo concept but actually i don't think you can change colors on the fairlady z because it's still considered a "concept car" (just like how nissan considered it a "concept car" at the tokyo auto show) in the game. and since concept cars come only in one color, you can't change the colors...kinda like the gtr concept also in the same game.
i've also seen pictures of a modded 350z in the game as well. those gran turismo people know their cars. they've made up body kits for both the 350z and gtr concept...and they look friggin awesome.
