Default Z in snow... worked fine fer me

Well it goes like this.... I was driving from Denver Co. to Albuquerque NM in my 03 350z ~stock~ in the middle of the night. I was just cruseing along at 77mph and not a care in the world when I ran into a feakin snow storm in the Glorieta canyon.... and me with summer standard tires..... I figured I was about to become a real expensive pool ball..... I dropped it to 45 and the temp guage was saying 22 degrees... I was swearing and praying and swearing....

I made it through without losing control once.... not a slide or slip. I am going to take my Z to a detailer to have her cleaned and polished after her ordeal.

I wish I could wear my tires down so that I could get some all season tires....

but she still has only 12,200 miles on her.....

Goes to show you that you can "IF" you have to drive this wonderful sports car in the snow.

Cheers!

Default Loved the Z

I can't agree more, I was driving on c470 just a couple days ago when i snowed pretty hard last week. all was good some idiots was following too close so i speed up to get some space from him/her. Anyway doing about 45 suddenly slippage, but vdc kicked in and before i know what happened the car was pointed the right way as if nothing happen. I have an 05 touring in screaming Yellow on stock RE040

Probably one time where the extra weight of the vehicle was a good thing.

yea i had a similar situation i live near the jersey shore and left to go back to school which is about 2hrs inland. it was raining when i left but i hit blizzard like conditions on the highway. I didnt have any problems with the car slipping or losing control. I think if the tires are already warm it definitly helps

I had to drive mine in 1 inch of snow one day and it was uncontrollable. I could even take off in second gear.....nothing but sliding around. It was a near death experience for sure but that's just how it is with RWD. I learned to drive in snow growing up in Ohio with FWD cars and it's so much easier.
