Default stock FI 350z?

i'm sure this has been posted around here before, but i must have missed it. soo.....

so, is the 350z going to have an option of tt in years to come? the last few z's had factory turbo options, and with the upcoming skyline using the same motor....? ( kinda ) 350z's with all the options and convertable already tip over 40k, and they seem to sell, so why not a tt option? plus, they are already pushing a huge amount of volume on the cars, an option like this would sell a ton of new z's over to people that didn't want the current version, or already have the current version.

it would make sense for them to keep completely quiet about an upcoming z turbo as well, because it would slow sales down as people waited for it. with speculation that the new gtr will be on a 36 chassis and not a 35 chassis, it wouldn't put the two in competition to badly, and nissan doesn't seem to care about that too much anyways as they used to produce the silvia with a turbo, z with a turbo, skyline ( gtst ) with a turbo, and gtr with a turbo ( 2 ) all at the same time.

hopefully, they see the evo and sti doing well in the states, and will get back in the turbo game again. a factory turbo car would mean that it would probably have good internals, and support at least 100 hp over its factory rating, which would be at least 350hp. ( nice sound, it fits, but hopefully quite a bit more than that ) the jgtc car already runs with a vq turbo engine, so it would come with racing heritage, thats already in play.

it seems everything points that way, but i kinda doubt it will happen because of how badly turbo cars did here in the states ten years ago. the car would sticker for about 40 base i would think, and a loaded vert would probably be almost 50, or a tad over. to keep production prices down they could go sc, but it doesn't seem to fit with traditional nissan stuff. still, with a factory turbo car, with 3.5 liters of displacement, apx 350-400hp stock, nicely shaped body, and the assembly lines already paid off from building 200,000 of them so far ( thats a number i saw on a pamphlet on the 2005 z ) it seems nissan could turn a profit this time AND provide people with a very cool car. i think it would sell quite a few copies, especially to people like me who really like the z, already have one, and would sell it and buy the turbo if it came out. how many times does a car company get a chance to sell 2 of the same chassis cars to one person. if it came out this year or next, i would buy it, then still get the gtr when it hits here towards the end of the decade.

it would keep the body style fresh at the dealers for the last half of the life cycle of the body style at the very least.

So far every Z car that has had a turbo option has been a ZX not a Z, so either Nissan will produce a 350ZX or we will see a turbo option on the next Z car.

Bottom line, nobody knows. In reality, probably not.

yes, but if you read my quote, they have had the gtr, silvia, skyline gtst, along with the turbo zx models all running at the same time. these were all turbo cars in the nissan line up that were sporty and fun. also, the gtr hits a price point about 15-20k higher than a possible z turbo, going off how much the old skylines cost new.

i don't think they will as well, as most of the japanese manufactures are getting away from turbo setups, and going NA.

since nissan is sharing platforms, the costs would be lower than building a stand alone turbo car, and they could do what they always have and leave the 4wd off the lower end cars, along with the neat lcd gauge package, the rear steer, the extra turbo, the front mount.
