Default The Z Family [in the "real world"]

And by the real world, I mean outside of our little ring of Z love we call my350z.com

when you see another Z owner on the street or in a parking lot somewhere, do you stop and say hi or give a thumbs up? Or do you just go about your business. Personally I always, and I mean always give a nod of approval or a thumbs up when I see another Z on the road, and when I see one parked I always strike up a conversation.

Idk. it`s like some weird bond between Z owners =P

Its not weird. Vette owners have been doing it for decades.

When I get mine, I will be waving at every Z owner I see.

haha nice. yeah some local z owners get a little freaked out sometimes and it`s freakin hilarious. idk what it is, must be the car. Lol I just feel like i`m automatically friends with the person driving the car just because they`re driving another Z. heh

Yeah I definitely wave, nod, or rev at other Z drivers. The only person that didn't respond was a 45+ year old woman who totally ignored me. My girlfriend always freaks out when I wave at other Z owners, "stop waving to people you don't know, they'll think you're weird!" She just doesn't understand the brotherhood of the Z

Ah, another of the age old subjects. Around here, to many people the Z is just a car. The thought that there are actually enthusiasts doesn't even occur to them, so waving just gets you weird looks if they acknowledge you at all.

Yet more proof that a) money doesn't make people nice, and b) some parts of the planet breed third world manners.

I've had my SB Z Coupe for 1 1/2 weeks now. Given a few Z'ers thumbs up. The coolest was last week I was coming down the street and ahead next to me was a SB Roadster driven by an older guy. As I pass him I give him a thumbs up, he smiles and acknowledges, slows down a bit, and as I make a turn and he passes, you see his 6ish year-old daughter trying to peek past the passenger door to look at my car

I wave to any Z I see on the road. I encountered an early 300zx on the road once. I slowly caught up to it and see this old fat man with a beard, hat, and those bug eye sunglasses smoking a pipe. I looked over and nodded to him and he nodded back. I thought it was awesome, I would've expected him to drive a chevy pickup or something big and domestic.

Sports car owners have been blinking their lights at each other for over fifty years. MG's blink or wave at other MG's, Triumphs at Triumphs, Porsches at Porsches. I think sports car owners in general are into and proud of their cars. Some people aren't aware of this tradition. Some drivers are jerks. --But I always flash my lights at another Z, if I get a chance --if I'm not flying by at 90 mph that is.

I have a story. It was about 1:00AM Monday after midnight, I was driving on the North bound 57 freeway here in So. Cal. as I slowed down for some road block up ahead I saw a Sunset Orange come right beside me. It was cool because I didn't want to race and I some how felt he didn't want to race either. So we drove next to each other for a good 10 miles. Through that experience I felt a good connection with another Z owner and it was a good experience for me.

I saw one yesterday(4/4/05) crusing down 22/30 by the Robinson Town Center here in Pittsburgh. It was a Chrome Silver Z atleast a Performance beause of the wheels; but it sounded like an Auto, so I would guess touring. And I came up along side of him and looked over and he wouldn't look back. And due to the flow of traffic I was in the lane to his right in front of him and we would exchange leads. He never ONCE looked over. I was gonna give him the thumbs up because this was my first Z encounter since I got it. I ended up infront of him and I got to a light with a turn lane that I went into, and he flew by me.

Well I don't own a Z, or **** even that nice of a car...but when you see my car, if you have the eye (and ear), you know I am enthusaist! I will nod and get nods back from people in everything from other owners of my car, to things such as C4S Cab. or sl500, I ecknowledge them, they ecknowledge me, its the love of cars for some, not just the kind of car.
