i dunno man, its starting to bug me.
i was just minding my own business when all of a sudden an open road with a wide three lane left turn ahead of me and i just go at it a conservative speed, and the car turns in fine, but at the end it starts hesitating pausing like it wont let me keep the gas on...
maybe i just need to get used to RWD, but i could always power it out of a turn in the max just fine.
is it just me? or is VDC goofy.? or is it my LSD?
hmm..

sounds like you think you are doing ok, but the car knows otherwise. if you care to risk it, go ahead and turn it off.
but remember FWD exists for those that are unexperienced with driving because its hard to screw up. the rwd will react very differently.

its like learning to write nicely (engineer here)
once you know how to drive one style. its hard to change to another set.
RWD is definately different #%@
need some track time..

not so much inexperienced.
i think i'm an excellent driver with my FWD, and yes. you can screw the pooch even with a FWD. ever seen someone spin 360 in a maxima? hehe. i have.
just gotta get the learning curve to a new level...

oh you can absolutely mess up in FWD, but not without trying. the Z could not be any happier then to get those pesky front tires away from in front of those over powered rear one... pulling is always a more stable form of power than pushing. its your job to keep the car heading the right direction. while in fwd, floor in the direction of the slide and you can pull the front straight. in RWD, if you gas it its worse, if you brake, its worse...
you decide how you fix it(hint the answer is to not screw up in the first place
) unless your trying to drift, thats a different case.(a very fun case as well)

The VDC gives a good feeling of security when zipping around tight corners -- it really keeps you from spinning out, and for that I kind of like it. But the TCS that is also on stops any kind of wheelspin even in a straight line, sometimes even activating on a hard 1-2 shift. And when it kicks in, it clumsily cuts power, making you lurch forward. I hate that. I wish there were separate switches for traction control and VDC! (Or I wish traction control could work in a more subtle fashion.)
So I guess my answer is: I love it and hate it.

I hate it, I never have needed it in much more powerful cars and I certainly don't need it now. I have made it a habit to turn it off right after putting on my seatbelt every time, but I hate the stupid light staring me in the face. What I really hate is when I forget to turn it off and I feel it intervene. To me, it actually feels like something is wrong with the car and it's a distraction as I fumble to turn it off. Nissan: give me an "always off" option.
I simply don't see how you can lose the back end of this car. You have to actually try to do it on purpose. Even stomping the breaks mid turn at the limit won't make this car rotate. Full throttle with a lot of steering lock in 2nd or 3rd gear is about the only way to make it rotate at all!!
