Yellow Z not popular?
Been tryin' to find some good pictues of an Ultra Yellow Z, but there isn't much other than magazine and manufacture ones. Is yellow just not a popular color amoung Z owners? Or does it tell otehr ppl that you're kinda "different" for buying a yellow car. I know I'd get a yellow one if it was a Ferrari lol.

lol.. it`s completely preferential with yellow. For most people who don`t care about what color the car is, they wont care and go for silver/white/black. But for the most part, people who get red/blue/orange/yellow are the people who prefer those color cars.
Another thing is that yellow just came out for the 05 models, so it might take some time to see a bunch on the road, not to mention it costs $500 MORE than any other color to get a yellow Z

1. Search should yield some people with pics of the UY paint.
2. 2% of the Z population should be yellow.
3. I think you need to have a preference to drive a yellow car.
4. Sometimes people drive a yellow car, because their wasn't any other color available for a paticular model (this was my situation) at the time of purchase (at least I got a nice discount).

Ya, i've been looking on Nissan's site to filter out all the available 6sp ethusiasts and I've only come up w/ 2 yellows and 1 black w/in a 75 mile radius! I really hope there isn't only 3 of those cars left in the Bay Area, that seems pathetic, lol. Maybe Nissan just doesn't update their dealers' inventories very much, lol.
Is the yellow on this car a Ferrari yellow? It seems that way on pictures since i haven't seen one in person. If u want creamy yellow, try WRX, it's nasty lookin'. But if the Z looks like that, i'll pass on yellow lol. I think White is for sensitive guys, lol.
I guess pictures don't really do it justice. I'm hoping to see more Zs tomorrow in person when i go check'em out. Thanks for ur responses, been very helpful.

The resaon i asked is because I'm in a dileama of choosing a color.
Black = I already have one, looks like $hit when dirty, but prettiest when clear imo. And classy.
White = Too sissy for me
Silver/Stonesilver = Too blah. And makes me feel 35
Red = Maybe...no contrast between headlights and car color :/
Blue = Damn it, my cousin has the same color on his Mazda 6, i don't wanna look bad lol. But i do love this color. ruined...
Yellow = Maybe (isn't it the same yellow as the s2000?)
LeMans = It looks like bird poop in certain light, and a bit too bling for me.
No offense intended, just my opinion Guess i'll need to see more pictures first lol.

I like the UY on the Z. I would have gotten it too if it was around at the time I got my 2004 DB Z. Plus I was just returning a 2001 lease yellow Mustang GT so I kind of wanted a different color car.

The yellow paint looks great in the sun, but it takes a unique person to drive a yellow car. The salesman gently tried to get me to pull the trigger on an Ultra Yellow roadster, but I just couldn't see myself in it.

I personally am not too fond of the color. Its OK, but I think it could be better. As for comparing it to the ultra exotics paints, I compare it to lambo yellow, and no its not really the same. Its a bit darker/more pastely pale imho. But I havent seen one up close, only ones coming the opposite way in traffic, so I may not have the best perspective. I think it needs to be brighter, a more neon-ish tint to it. Maybe even a slight bright orange undercoat to give it depth.

I liked James Chen's Axis yellow Z car when there were no other yellow Zs. I think a lot of people thought it was really nice because it was unique. And, I bet someone over at Nissan thought, wow, a lot of people dig the yellow. Hence we have yellow.
Seeing the yellow that's come out, I don't feel it at all. The fact it's one of a few colors available for the 35th Anniversary Edition makes it a little quirky too. But, I'm sure there are people out there that really dig the color and it is nice that there are options. Me, I like the metalic paint jobs and think they never should have cancelled Brickyard.

Honestly, sometimes I wonder if people actually think before they type.

Even if I wanted to "defend" myself toward your unneccesary comment, I`d simply say that on the road [where I live anyway], I see about 75% silver/white/black in ALL cars. Those are the most common colors, it`s a FACT. So someone who doesn`t care about what color they get will MOST LIKELY [imo again] get the more subtle color, rather than colors that stand out ie. RED, BLUE, YELLOW.
Plus with red blue and yellow you`re just asking to get a ticket.
