Default Shift ****

I was wondering how many of you have changed the shift **** from the stock one in your Z.

I was thinking about the nismo stainless (nice and shiny, dont so much like the matte Titanium ****) but that thing gets f'ing HOT in the sun, so I was wondering if any of you have gone with a different, but still leather wrapped or similarly cool, **** and whether or not you are happy with it.

I have the Nismo Black Aluminum one and I LOVE it. You will to. The stock shifter weighs a ton (I think it's in an effort to absorb vibration), and I find the shifting to be much nicer with the lighter, shorter shift ****.

I just installed the Nismo titanium gt shift **** on my rogue short shifter tonight and I love it! With this combo the shifts are vary fast and much shorter than stock.

I had the Nismo Chrome Aluminum **** before... man that thing can get HOT!!!11!!!one

I had to use a sock (one with a hole that I carry in the car for dusting purposes... yes, it's clean) to put over the **** so I could drive home after class one time...

I personally don't really care for the Chrome Aluminum's shaft b/c it's rather thin for my tastes (and comfort). But it looks nice if you're into that *bling* factor

Brian, do you think that maybe the other Ti NISMO shift **** wouldn't get hot either?

Bran, the **** gets hot just like anything else (plastic interior, etc.) but not to the degree of the aluminum **** in my experience. YMMV

I try not to park in the direct sunlight, but that one time with the burning aluminum ****... it just couldn't be avoided. It's maybe that since I try to really avoid leaving the car in the sun, that I haven't experienced any "hand-melting" problems with the Ti... so far

Well, let me search and find out if Ti will not absorb heat as well as aluminum does.

1668 degrees F to melt titanium......1220 degrees F to melt aluminum. So titanium will resist heat for longer.

I assume since that there is such a thing as titanium cookware, that Ti must be a relatively good conduit for heat transfer... the heat property differences between Al and Ti... well, let's hope your research turns up something that we can all learn

Yeah...so not only is titanium lighter, and more expensive, it also dissipates heat very well. Hmm, now to compare to steel (getting off topic now).

how hard is it to remove the stock shift ****? it seems like mine is pretty much stuck.

must stabilize it from below boot, or you can damage tranny. search for instructions on this site.
to balthazar, if you search for shift **** on this site, you will find tons of diff ***** including mine, which is "THE **** for our cars".

Because the stock **** left an H pattern on my hand after being in the sun, and because I wanted shorter and lighter, I got the nismo plastic black ball shifter. it never gets hot, short and to the point.



It has little bling factor but ergonomics is more important to me than show.
