I know it blows when some random dude with a different car and posts in the single digits comes over to the forums and starts up some smack. This was not my intention, sorry it turned out that way. I like my car and I'm prolly over competitive about it and my gf is too. I got the info I need, so I'll leave it at that. Thx to the guys who replied with the useful info. dude (VVrx), nobody is tired of you or thinking you're starting smack, and they could care less about your post count - this isnt that type of forum... we're just saying - be happy with the wrx, its an awesome car, you'll pull on about 95% of the cars that roll up to you, however, for now, your girl will be in the other 5%, but you can change that with mods -

Just drive what you drive man, forget about the rest, that much time money and effort should be SOLELY spent on you doing something YOU enjoy, not you doing something just because some girl might buy simething faster.

And honestly I don't think an avg. female driver can launch a automatic well enough to keep THAT much of a diff. in speed on you if your good at it.

Maybe shes not avg. though, maybe your not good at launching (in which case, get in line behind me).

But it doesn't matter. My car could be plowed into by a truck tomorrow and as long as insurance buys me out I will be sorely disappointed but other than the money lost it won't be the end of the world. Its just a car.

Love it, drive it, then forget about it.

That seriously makes me sad. My last car was a 3000gt vr4 and I could never forget it, all the good and bad times with it. Especially since it could ruin my current WRX (think 660cc injectors with big turbos to go with em ). Like I said though, I know I take my cars waaay too seriously, I prolly should let it go. It's been like 6 months and I still brag about it like its at home

Lol never thought i would be rooting for an WRX over a Z... but man u gotta get some mods ASAP and beat her! dont let her beat you!!! haha

But ya autos are just as fast as manuals, there is a slight lag sometimes when shifting, but that is nothing much... and with a simple $500 upgrade we can be instant shifting and maybe even lil more power to the wheels then them manual boys .
Ive raced similar moded stick Zs and beat em.

On the bright side, turbo cars don't get a big nerfing stick at higher elevations.

you sure? i could of swore remember seeing like 320-350 max.

 

Ford says 390 at the crank, but they got busted with the 2001 cobra being way under post. The general consensus is that they underposted this time, most folks will tell ya 380rwhp bone stock.

Still too people that dont know cars that well, will just be another mustang, and to anyone else that doesnt get close, well be just a mustang.... I guess i wanted to go jap as well . I might go american again with like a new z06 or something .

 

that would be to the wheels. And more like 360rwhp. plus they can pick up another 80rwhp for $1k or so with pulley Intake/exhaust. It's unfair really that this powertrain isn't available in a non-mustang chasis.
