350z Coupe V's G35 Coupe Shassi, same?
Hi all,
I have been a big fan of the Z for many years and have owned my 86 300zx turbo for as long as I can remember.
Now that I able to upgrade to the new 350z Nissan has let me down by producing it as a 2 seater only! how dissapointing..
Now not wanting to give up that easy, I have read that the Z and the G35 share the same shazzi body, which gets me thinking, would it be possible to perform an interrior conversion and add 2 rear seats using the G35 for parts and fabricating other needed parts??
Anyone else investigated this?
Thanks..

No, definitely not, because the G is around 11 inches longer, and the Z is shaped in a way that makes that a complete redesign. There's just not close to enough room, and besides you'd end up screwing up the weight distribution.
If you want 4 seats, just GET a G35 Coupe. And don't go adding 2 more doors to that, either. If you want 4 doors, get a G35 sedan!

They do have the same basic chassis, but for the G the chassis has been "stretched" so you can have real people in the back seat. So, yes, it's the same basic vehicle, but no, it's not exactly the same, and no, you can't convert it.
You really should go to a dealership and see for yourself; the differences are pretty apparent.

Thanks guys..
Unfortunately in Australia we have no G35's. If so I would buy a G35 coupe in a heartbeat.
I just cant see why they chose not to squeeze 2 more seats in the back as they did with the Z's before it.
Although we all know their not reall seats, they do act as a backup if needed or squeezing in the kids.
Oh well, no Z and no other real options either. Only closest match is the Monaro or RX8 which I dont even classify as equivilants..
l8r.. I'm off to go cry over what could have been..
