WOW, that's CRAZY!!! Well, good thing it's only minor damage.

 

At work a few weeks ago I went to check the air filter on some lady's minivan and the airbox was filled with like halfway with cat food. Aparently she leaves cat food on her back porch for stray cats. Looked like a squirrel or something was living in her airbox.

Nuts I can't believe it went through your filter like that. The idiots that detailed my car one time lift a bag over my KN filter charger and the suction from the that completely crushed my filter but was when I had my teg not my Z thank god.

get a K&N ...it will suck harder...longer...and last forever. Also they have metal mesh so no way soemthing breaking into it. Looks like you had a cheap paper filter in there.

Well, it was the stock filter ($15), so I guess you're right, it is a cheap paper filter. I was thinking about upgrading to a K&N anyway. I suppose if this ever happens again (not bloody likely), the metal mesh will prevent the filter from rupturing. The car will still stall, but failure to rupture will mean that there is little chance of anything getting into the engine, which I am most concerned with.
