Dupont is a good paint, but the Key is in the Clear Coat.
I would pay extra and put on a couple more layers of clear Coat.
Then you would not have to worry about the clear bra thing.
IF something goes through 4 coats of clear then it will go through the clear bra.
You can always buff out marks in clear coat.

I'm thinking about having my front bumper repainted in the future as well. Please keep us updated on the results. Also, if you don't mind, tell how much you're paying for it.

i have no idea how many layers they put on my front . how do we know how many layers they put anyway ?
my bud is working in the bodyshop and he give me 250 bucks for repaint and get rid of those 2 silly license plate hole .
i went to other place they charge $457.56 for the repaint only .
my advice is to go to "smaller" body shop that you can trust .
mine is Vietnamese owned body shop. and i know the bodyguy that works there quite well.
ne1 in WA i can bring you guys to the place .
thx for the comments guys , really appreciate that .

it's perfectly fine to wash your bumper. what you don't want to do is put any kind of wax on it for at least 3 months. As the bumper is curing, it releases chemicals in the air. If you wax your bumper, the chemicals have nowhere to go and will end up making small bubbles in yout paint.

It looks good from the pics, but they are not super quality...
I had to get the rear of my Z repainted and the shop said they "blended" the new paint with the old on the surrounding body panels. They took the clear coat off and did their thing. They said that sometimes a different batch of paint could be slightly different, so it helps to smooth out things just in case. The paint looks like it was always that way now.
I'm trying to decide what to do with the front end of mine as well. I may try some touchup paint first, and see what I can do. If I get it repainted anyway then I won't be messing anything up by trying....

i just got a new bumper + paint and labor for $530. i could of saved some money if i did the install myself, but i didnt think of it til after. so now i have a new bumper for the summer and a beat up scratched bumper for the winter. color match is right on the money. im not sure what paint they used though.
