I remember reading an article stating that the door handles (both inside/outside) are plastic with some kind of special coating to let them have a metal feel....not really sure though

Ok, seriously...6 pages about what the door handles are made out of is long enough! We already know what they are...stop posting so this thread can die before it starts getting linked to every other forum on the net! LOL

Bringing this thread back from the dead, but just incase anyone is actually curious. The interior door handles on my 2003 were aluminum. Solid. Aluminum all the way through. No coating, no BS. Cold on cold days and warm on warm days. (remember aluminum has a high heat capacity, so it takes a long time for aluminum to change temperature) My 2007 z's interior handles are plastic, covered in metal just like the rear Z emblem on the strut bar and what everyone is talking about. They feel much cheaper than the ones in the 03 and I actually liked the cold/hot of the early ones.

Hey guys, I'm new on the Forum. Question: I have a 2006, Z, My passenger outside door handle is very hard to open from the outside. Should I replace the door handle or is there a way to fix the problem? thanks

Does it still lock and unlock correctly? If not I would guess the lock mechanism got a bit jammed an makes it difficult, or the door mechanism is gummed up. I doubt it is an issue with the handle and probably an issue with the internal mechanisms.
