They have cleaning agents you can use to get rid of mold. If it's a fairly new car you should take it to the dealer and complain.

Yea , with ya on the MOLD smell , it is from condensation . Air runs when you cut it off the air is still cold in the vent then the car sits when you turn it off the condensation then molds. If you have a fart smell you might have a as# stuck in your vent.

When I bought my 2005 PPW Z, the Nissan technician there told me to turn off your A/C, wait several minutes, before shutting the car off...to prevent the "mold smell" from building up.

It's normal...I heard if you put some rubbing alcohol into the outside air intake it may clear the smell and clean it out. Not totally sure if that's what I'm thinking about so get more opinions first.

Wow, we even have a brotherhood of stinky A/C. I want to get to the dealer on this, but I hate to be without my car over a few moments of mold stink.

Thanks for the post, misery loves company.
