Default Did my car just get faster?

PArdon the newb post but...

I drove my new ZR today and felt the car was much quicker, had more torque etc. I'm up to 1730 km on it since I bought it and today it really felt like it was more powerful. It's probably just me, but could this be the result of the components settling in better and being more efficient or something?
Yesterday i took it and i swear it didn't feel like it did today. It actually scared me today.

Did you by chance put any new stickers on it? Maybe a NOS sticker? That would account for the performance gains. LOL

Would 2112 by Rush make it go faster perhaps?
LOL seriously though I truly felt a difference. Weather wasn't colder than yesterday either. Sorry i'm a complete moron when it comes to mechanics.

I have noticed the same thing, just went over 2200 miles. I babied it, shifting at 4000-4500 until 1182 miles. Now I am playing in the 3500-6000 rpm range and wait was worth every painful low rpm mile. I have heard the engine breaks in for the first 5000 miles. Starting to enjoy this cars range of power and torque. . . ;-)

Yep, stick with that station. The ECU probably adjusted for better power as a result of the gas you pumped.

Did you change your fuel? I've been doing some research on the web, and the more I read the more I'm convinced this car is very sensitive to fuel. The ECU will use one of three maps once it enters closed loop mode and I'm guessing that you may be feeling the aggressive one the computer runs when it doesn't detect any ping from poor fuel.

I know there are times when I lay into the Z and the power kinda flattens out, other times it shreds the tires. I've only driven it 3400k miles so I'm still trying to figure out which brand of 93 octane it likes...

Hmm I haven't put in better fuel. I put in 94 octane on the way to quebec city and back after the weekend i pumped about half a tank of 92 octane. I didn't notice much of a difference driving up though and since then i only drove it twice. My tank's at half empty right now (or half full depends on your philosophy of life :P)

So i see: take half a tank of 94 octane, put in half a tank of 92, drive it til it's half full then all of a sudden i get better power?

Then again i got the car with a full tank from the dealer, idiots probably filled it with regular. Since then i've been putting premium, depending on station it's 91, 92 or 94

*probably not

lower altitude can increase engine power becuase of atmospheric pressure

*heres an article that explains gas and octane levels. its from a trusted source so.. here it is http://superchargersonline.com/content.asp?id=105
