getting my z tomorrow...need HELP
Ok so I am going to test drive some Z's tomorrow, and if they have one I like...ill more than likely purchase one tomorrow. Lookin for a DB or PPW w/black interior, m6 touring/track package. I know a lot about american cars, but not too much the imports. I want to go in there knowing what to look for. Anything i should check for (despite it being a new car) thanks for the help guys, any pointers appreciated
Depending what year, ... if its an 03 or early 04 model, there could be some tire feathering issues.. talk to the dealer about that... and look at the tires... I would research more on the tire feather issue if it is an 03 or early 04 model.. if its late 04 or 05, no worries. The only thing difference between track and touring is, track has better bigger brakes, 18inch wheels and other lil stuff. Either way you wont go wrong whichever one you choose.
If your financing, try to get your financing lined up for the '05. You can easily get the
financing online. I forgot what site I used but a was able to get three quotes from three lenders before walking into Nissan.
You can then negotiate when the finance guy tries to sell you Nissan financing offer.

^Thats not bad. For a $33k Z (before TTL) that'd be $330. I'm paying $500 over invoice for mine.
If your looking at a new '05, the tire feathering issue looks to be resolved with a redesigned suspension, as well as most of the other nuances such as the window greasing and creaks/rattles. Just do the usual, give the car a full inspection to make sure nothing is wrong with it.
Test drive it as thouroughly as possible, meaning acceleration, braking, handling, and cruising on the back roads. Make sure it lives up to your expectations and demands. Make sure the road noise when cruising isn't obnoxious to you, or the tranny feels difficult to shift since its a sports car. Also make sure to get good looks at the colors to make sure you know which one you want.
Good luck!

Track or Touring is your big decision. Do you ever want to track the car? If so, you really should get the Track model unless you want to spend a couple thousand $$ on a brake upgrade. Touring stock brakes are not adequate for high-performance driving. If you're just going to be "touring" in your Z, then by all means get the Touring model for a little more comfort.
Also, look for swirls in the paint! Dealerships are bad about washing cars with dirty rags & swirling the crap out of the paint.

1% over invoice sounds great but be sure they don't tack on any extras such as paint protection, etc.
Your also better off going to the dealer with financing arranged through a local bank credit union. That way your only negociating price at the dealer.
