Default 18" rims

What do you guys think of 18" rims for the 350z? I don't know if I'm right but I think I heard somewhere that 18" rims weren't good on 350zs, is this true? And also, I want to get the 5Zigen Black Chrome Hyper 5s 18" rims, how much do you think they'll cost me all around and are they good?

Why wouldn't 18" rims be good? they're standard on the top track and anniversary models.

The only reason people use smaller diameter rims is for dragging etc (gear ratios are closer). Oh and they're (sometimes) lighter and cheaper.

Larger diameter rims and thinner rubber handle better in turns but the tradeoff is ride harshness. Ive heard the ride quality is different between the 17" stock rims and 18" stock rims although the suspension is the same.

5Zigen black chrome rims look hot!

why go 19s? what's wrong with 18s?

18s or 19s - go with your heart - you're the one going to be driving around in what you choose. post pics when you get the wheels!

Probably some 18" wheels are very heavy compared to the track wheels but if you go for the 19" there is mass to be move and you might loose performance and gain look. If you search 350z racecars use 17” using some spacers.

You are absolutely right. They only come in 19's or maybe even 20's.

Also the 18" 5 Zigen Hyper only come in 18x7.5 and its 1 piece wheel. In my opinion, with 18x7.5 you will have hard time fitting 245's so what are you going to do about the rear unless you go with stock setup. 225-45-18 in the front & 245-45-18 in the rear. Even than you are pushing it.

Most members who have 18's have 245-40-18 in the front & 275-40-18.

I dont think it will work. Look into different wheels.

I don't think 18's on the 350Z look too bad.

Here is pic of my car with 18" SSR GT3.

18x8.5 (+30 offset) w/245-40-18 in the front
18x10.5 (+43 offset) w/275-40-18 in the rear

One more thing,

I would get 19's if you can afford it. I think you may end up changing to 19's later on.

But if I get 19s 5zigen hyper 5s, then I should be okay? It's just that, every time you go up a size, another 200 or so gets added on each wheel. Lol, 18s are cheaper. hmmm
