I think the crossfire's problem is the fact that the designers wanted to be too radical and exciting that they made it look bad.

The Z uses simple elegant curves based on the previous Z designs to make a sexy sportscar that can't go wrong. The Z tries to keep everything simple so you can't not like it even if you look at it through a broken window.

If I got the crossfire for free, I'd take it... then again, if I got a geo metro for free, I'd take it too.
