Default Tire feathering from Nissan

I have 13k all highway miles since purchased brand new april 04, on my 2004 350z. I took my z for regular oil/filter change today, but besides that,I asked for the 1st time about the tire feathering, since the car has gotten just a bit noisy and told the service tech about it, and this is what he typed:

"Customer states that there is roaring noise coming from the front tires, need to take a test drive with customer to identify problem"

and after 45 minutes, without ever taken the car for a "test drive" the service manager came up to me and told me about the problem, and this is what he typed on the invoice;

"Tech found that the roaring noise coming from the front tires is from uneven wear on the tire is due to the alignment being off. Need to replaced both front tires ($252 each). Cost to replace both front tires $552.00 and 4 wheel alignment $90.99 to correct the problem"

He told me that unfortunately warranty would had covered my 2004 z until 12.5k miles, so i was basiclly SOL. He did say though, to call 1800 NISSAN1 and see what they can do. I was really dissapointed about it, cause i thought i was going to get free tires and alignment, but i guess the 2004's are not supposed to have this problem, but i guess we do. My point is that there's a real problem and Nissan doesn't want to accept, it's IMPOSSIBLE that i get feathering with only 13k all HIGHWAY MILES, but even the dealership admitted to the problem. What are we suppose to do? I love the car, so i guess i'm going to have to eat the cost.

I was told mine would be covered until 36K, and I have a 2004. Mine were replaced after 12K.

Go to another dealer.
