Save yourself a TON of hassle and get the switch from www.airbagonoff.com. The Nissan switch from what I understand is a real b!tch to install, and 99% of dealerships won't do it for liability reasons. airbagonoff.com will come to your house and put the switch wherever you want...

The cost, installed was something like $400. It was a necessary evil for me so that my son could ride in the car. The job was EXTREMELY professional though, and the switch is supposed to be the best in the industry...all gold contacts and such.

A fair portion of the install charge goes to insurance for the technician. People get injured or killed all the time monkeying around with airbag circuitry when they accidentally trigger the bag while working at dash level. It's a dangerous task if you're not careful, which is why most dealerships won't do it.

Anyway, it's worth the price...trust me.

Thanks. I have the same problem. My son can't ride with me and I would like to get a switch. The Nissan switch is very expensive and like you said most dealers don't want to install it.

Exactly. Give airbagonoff a call and see what they can do. They supposedly offer nationwide to-your-door delivery and installation. I was just fortunate that they are right up the road in Maryland. If you want the 'stealth look', they can actually install the switch in one of the rear compartments, but it will cost extra because of the extended wiring, but at least you have options with this product vs. the Nissan kit that only goes in one spot.

Good luck
