Drivers view of the road??
Quick question for those of you that have recently sat in the Z and all that good stuff. I got to sit in the Fairlady version at the autoshow fro all of 45 seconds, so I cna't remember how the view of the road was!
This picture concerns me:
PLEASE tell me these guys are short!? Otherwise, short people will "disappear" below the belt line and be hopeless when it comes to seeing the road! I know that sports car will have seats that sit lower, changing the view of the road immediately ahead, and that fine. But from this pic, it looks like the guy driving is looking at the road between the top of the wheel and the dash -- and the passenger is a little taller, but not much. They can't see ANYTHING as far as the road immediately a head of them.
So, everybody who get to sit or ride in it, and is of average hieght -- HOW'S THE VIEW?? (BTW - I'm 6'1").
Thanks,
Ryan

Those guys are sitting pretty low. It looks like their seats are too far back.
Admittedly, you sit low in the car. Or you could say the car has a high "beltline." There have been some discussion about the view shorter people might experience.
Also keep in mind that the rear of the door is higher than the front of the door, and higher than the dash.
My experience is that unless you are VERY short (less than 5') you will be fine. If under 5', you might want to have some custom seats installed that give your fanny a little bit of a height boost.

Go to the following post - General - pics and videos of Daytona Touring coming soon - author is droidekaus - date of post was 6/16/02 - last post on page 2 - BigZ - click on the link - the guy standing beside the car in blueZ5.jpg is the same one in the pic in question - he's kinda short. He's also in the first pic in the link up.

Guys, I was in Austin when Z came there, the two guys in the picture were the same ones I met. The driver, nice guy, was extremely short probably around 5" or so and handicapped (he wore a prostectic shoe so that he would stand taller). So, I would not worry especially if you are 6'1. He was also the Mag writer that told me the car was tested at "5.2" secs. Hope that helps.

I was able to sit in the Z for quite sometime in Buena Park, CA. I'm 6'1" and had no problem at all with the view. The seat DOES have a thigh adjustment to help with seat height. No question, you are sitting quite low in this car, the beltline came up to my upper arm/shoulder. The view had no obstruction, perfect sightline to the road. Not too much of a blindspot either. The corner window is very useful.
