Hey guys,

I just picked up my brand new Z yesterday and I'm so pumped!

However, I'm running into something I've never encountered before. Sometimes I engaged the clutch to downshift, and rev the engine to match the rpms, I can feel the engine kind of rattle. I dont think that is normal! Could it be because the engine is breaking in? It has about 80 miles on it right now.

 

Could be it. You definitely wanna give your engine/drive train some break in time before hitting it hard.

 

Dony rev match until the car has been broken in. Be nice to your baby .. at least until after your first oil change.

 

but "rev matching" IS being nice to your baby...

properly matching your next shift is not going to damage anything.

beating on it.. will of course damage something....
